Most projects carried out during this period involved a lot of site measurements of existing
buildings and specification matching with works already implemented. The schemes would
by and large be awarded to up-coming contractors, who due to their lack of exposure
demanded much supervision. Site visits were definitely once or twice per week. In literary
all situations site visits would be lengthy, focusing on detail, to guarantee effective
interpretation by staff on site.

Schemes 5, 7, and 10, were constructed under my direct supervision either on labour
contracts or on complete contract tender basis. The rest of the projects have either been
implemented by the clients independently or have been left at a design stage. In all
instances all these schemes were prepared and compiled to include working drawings, bills
of quantities, specifications and general cost estimates. This entailed consultation with
other professionals especially quantity surveyors and structural engineers.
