 Objective:
The Onboard Digital Flight Control Computer (DFCC) is an integral part of the Fly-By-Wire
Control System of Light Combat aircraft (LCA). This is, basically a black box testing of the DFCC
software, involves its functional test and evaluation. Various evaluation tests are carried out to verify
the Operational Flight Program (OFP) of DFCC. This also involves the development of software for
the each module of the Flight Control System.
RESUME
Project-1: Hardware Software Integration Tests at Iron Bird in ADA
Hardware : AIRDATS, AETS, DAS, DFCC and ADCs
Interfaces : RS422, MIL-1553B, Analog and Discrete
Analysis : MATLAB Scripts
Description : These tests are carried out to check the functionality between:
1. ADC to ADP Range Check: In this test all three Air Data Probes are pressurised one by one with the
help of pressure-adaptors for specific pressure values, and while these specific pressure values are
maintained, with the help of RS422 data we check that the ADCs are sensing these specific pressure
within tolerance or not.
2. DFCC to Actuators Fixed Gain Scheduled Gain Test: The objective is to integrate the DFCC and
Primary and Secondary Actuators with Avionics in loop to verify that the Primary and Secondary
Actuator ram displacement for the given pilot input, Pt (Total Pressure), Ps (Static Pressure) values
are within specified tolerance limits and to verify the CLAW events are toggling as per the
requirement.
Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of test cases.
2. Coordination and management for carrying out these tests.
3. Analysis of test results using MATLAB
4. Preparation of record sheets and test result documents.
Project-2: Pre-Installation (PI) Checks of LRUs (ADC, LADC, DFCC)

Hardware : AIRDATS, AETS and DAS
Acquire : RS422 data
Analysis : MATLAB Scripts
Description : The Pre-Installation (PI) Checks of LRUs is to check the Hardware
interfaces and Pressurization rangesbefore installing into the aircrafts.
Responsibilities:
1. Preparation of test cases.
2. Ensuring that all the pressure leaks are within tolerance.
3. Analysis of test results using MATLAB
4. Preparation of Test Reports for the carried-out tests.
5. Coordinating with Quality Assurance Department for obtaining flight clearance.
