The Science and Art of Communication
Today communication professionals are expected to be tech-savvy, choose the right tools and manage a gamut of new media
with existing resources. And that’s just the new delivery channels. The message making, the strategic advice, shaping behaviour –
these key functions of the profession have not changed. And they become increasingly important as we navigate through our
complex world. Do all this and have fun! It’s a tough ask and one that Louise Denver and Neryl East relish.
And pick the brains of two of the most experienced communicators in the country.
óó How to communicate using consistent messages across new and traditional media
óó Don't let the tail wag the dog: strategic communication that's not dictated by tools
óó Communication that caters for all audiences
óó Use your influence as a communicator to bring about positive change in your organisation
óó The art of the conversation
óó Be your organisational leader's best asset
Louise returned to Australia after an exciting career as an international journalist in the Middle
East; a documentary film maker in Northern Ireland; and an award winning documentary and
communications pioneer in the US.
