comprehension. Use the guide questions that follow.
“Tradition is the living faith of dead, traditionalism is the dead faith of the living. And, I
suppose I should add, it is traditionalism that gives tradition such a bad name."

-Jiddu Krishnamurti
“Sometimes tradition and habit are just that, comfortable excuses to leave things be,
even when they are unjust and unworthy. Sometimes – not often, but sometimes – the
cranks and radicals turn out to be right. Sometimes everyone is wrong.”
-Matthew Scully, Dominion: The Power of Man, the Suffering of Animals, and the Call to
Mercy
“Who says that tradition cannot be changed? The traditions which go against the
human values have to be changed, otherwise it is like a poisonous snake that is
hanging on our neck to kill us.”
- Pratibha Ray

Questions:
a. Why do you think people like to reinvent and try new things away from tradition?
Curiosity is part of human nature. This curiosity made our lives strives for
innovation and development. Curiosity, the desire that humans have to question
things, is something that is very unique to our species. It is something that sets
us apart from other species and makes us unique. It allows us to incite change in
society and propels our civilization forward. Curiosity is also the reason why
people do not want to be stagnant with the tradition they are born with. Therefore,
people always try to reinvent and try new things out of their curiosity.
