Welcome to the Media and Information Literacy with Grade 11/12 Self-Learning
Module (SLM) on Producing Creative Media-Based Presentation!

This module was collaboratively designed, developed and reviewed by educators both
from public and private institutions to assist you, the teacher or facilitator in helping
the learners meet the standards set by the K to 12 Curriculum while overcoming
their personal, social, and economic constraints in schooling.

This learning resource hopes to engage the learners into guided and independent
learning activities at their own pace and time. Furthermore, this also aims to help
learners acquire the needed 21st century skills while taking into consideration their
needs and circumstances.

depict skill, action and purpose. Through our hands we may learn, create and
accomplish. Hence, the hand in this learning resource signifies that you as a learner
is capable and empowered to successfully achieve the relevant competencies and

This module was designed and written with you in mind. It is here to help you master
the Producing Creative Media-Based Presentation. The scope of this module permits
it to be used in many different learning situations. The language used recognizes the
diverse vocabulary level of students. The lessons are arranged to follow the standard
sequence of the course. But the order in which you read them can be changed to
correspond with the textbook you are now using.

The module focus on learning outcome, namely:

LO 1 – Produce a creative text-based, visual-based, audio-based, motion-


based and manipulative-based presentation using design principle
and elements.

After going through this module, you are expected to:

Definition of Terms

Audio media

It is the recording, transmission, reception, and reproduction of sound used for


communication, information dissemination, and entertainment.

Interactive Media

A method of communication in which the program's outputs depend on the user's


inputs and the user's inputs, in turn, affect the program's outputs.

Motion

The action or process of moving or being moved.

Motion Information and Media

Refers to materials, programs, applications and the like that teachers and students
use to formulate new information to aid learning through the use, analysis,
evaluation, and production of moving text and images.

Text media

Are publications that disseminate information through media products

Visual media and information

Materials, programs, applications and the like that teachers and students use to
formulate new information to aid learning through the use, analysis, evaluation, and
production of visual images.

Media and other information providers play a central role in information and
communication processes. Nowadays, media become the common outlet of self-
expression and creativity. Its huge influence spreads speedily across the globe. The
connection between technological advances and people’s connectivity created a huge
impact on the lives of today’s generation. This module covers all the above-
mentioned concepts.

Retrieving information comes in various ways in accordance with one’s preference


and time. Living in a modernized time requires a modern platform of information
dissemination. Technology aims to aid a convenient way of information
dissemination.

Putting together the elements and principles of multimedia to create a specific


presentation is something different and requires critical and aesthetic skills.
