It
was my wedding day, yesterday, and I gave my full heart and soul to Jacob. I treasured
every moment and was the happiest I ever remembered feeling before. If I had known
last night was the only night, I would ever feel that love again. It’s not right. I thought
maybe all the work Jacob did for these seven years were for me. Father had just been
telling me how he made such a good bargain with Jacob. That’s when Jacob walked in
with Rachel with his arm wrapped around hers. Not only did father deceive Jacob but he
betrayed me too. All I can hear in my head is father’s words, “No man will ever love you.
Pretending to be Rachel is the only way I was ever going to get you married. You aren’t
pretty.” Rachel even blames me. She believes I stole her husband and maybe I did.
Maybe if I try and go to him. I can shower him with love, and he could accept me. If I
fail. Then I’ll continue to pretend the look of love in Jacob’s eyes are meant for me, to
feel for just a moment, loved. Although, I truly will know deep down all I am is broken.
