Due to the business impact of Covid-19 and low oil and gas prices,
Aramco last year halted development of the Jafurah scheme, for which
it received a capital expenditure grant of $118bn from the Saudi
government in February 2020.
29/11/2021 Hyundai Engineering & Construction has been appointed as the main
contractor on the project.
14/11/2021 Hyundai Engineering & Construction has emerged as the lowest bidder
on the project.

12/08/2020 The project is expected to be awarded by December 2020 as the client
has asked the contractor's for bid validity till the end of 2020.
09/04/2020 JV of Hyundai Engineering and Hyundai Engineering & Construction has
been emerged as the preferred bidder and the contract expected to be
awarded by December 2020.
29/01/2020 The bid evaluation is underway and Hyundai E&C has emerged as the
lowest bidders.
22/10/2019 Wood Group is working as the Project Management Consultant (PMC)
and the project is expected to be commissioned by 2023.
30/09/2019 The bid submission has taken place and the following companies have
submitted the bids: Hyundai E&C, Samsung Engineering and Saipem.
05/08/2019 ITB has been issued with the bid submission due on September 30, 2019.
The following are the PQ shortlisted companies: L&T, JGC, Hyundai
E&C, Samsung Engineering, Dragados, Saipem, Technip and GS E&C.
25/07/2019 PQ submission has taken place and the following companies have
submitted the PQ documents: JGC Corporation, L&T Hydrocarbons,
Tecnicas Reunidas, Saipem, McDermott International, Hyundai E&C,
Samsung Engineering, Daragdos, Technip and GS E&C.
30/05/2019 The SOI has been issued and Wood Group is working as the FEED
contractor for the project.
