    TECHNICALLY SUPERIOR:

    and measurements with hand-held instruments. This yields
    low inconsistent results and limited trend
    analysis. KLD Lab’s is the ORIAN system, which
    installs on a railway vehicle to collect all key rail wear
    measurements and cross-sec onal profiles at track speeds.

    HOW IT WORKS:
    The ORIAN sensor heads are mounted beneath a railway vehicle. The central computer and
    peripherals are housed inside the vehicle. As the vehicle travels down the track, a laser system
    illuminates each rail as a video camera records the rail profile for processing
    and storage on the central computer. The computer then shows exactly how much wear the
    rail has suffered, as well as the overall of the track structure. This is
    stored internally and can be archived using the internal CD Writer.This easily allows for the
    transfer of data from the vehicle in a
