Inductive Method Lesson Plan

Science 3

I. Objectives At the end of the lesson, the Grade 3 pupils will be


able to:

1. Describe what weather is


2. Identify the different types of weather
3. Draw the different types of weather
4. Appreciate the importance of weather in day to
day activities
 Topic:

III. Procedure

2. Drill  Find Me!

 The teacher will ask for four (4) pupils who


wants to volunteer in class.
 The teacher will post the word puzzle in the
board.
 In the word puzzle, the pupils must find and
circle all of the direction words that are
hidden in the grid. The words may be hidden
in any direction.

3. Review

 Lucky Me!

 The teacher will hold a mystery box


with papers inside.
 Each pupils will pick a paper inside the
mystery box.
 Whoever gets the paper with a
question written on it will answer the
question in class.

will pass the microphone to the pupils.

the music stops, will answer the

 The teacher will use PowerPoint Presentation
to present her lesson to the class.
 The teacher will define first what weather is.

What
is
Weather?

 The teacher will further discuss the different


types of weather using visual aids and
pictures.

 Different types of weather:


1. Sunny

It is described as the sun shining


and giving warmth to the land.
There are little to no presence of
clouds. 

2. Cloudy
In this weather, the clouds form up
a barrier to block the rays of the
sun. At the same time, it also traps
heat from the ground.

3. Rainy

When the clouds are heavy


enough, they cannot hold the water
anymore. Water falling in drops
condensed from vapor in the
atmosphere.

4. Windy
Majorly formed as a warm air mass
rises upward and cold air rushes in
to fill the vacuum. Wind gusts also
form as air is pushed into smaller
and smaller spaces. 

5. Snowy

The solid form of water that


crystallizes in the atmosphere and,
falling to the Earth,

asked to compare what is the difference
between sunny, rainy, cloudy, windy, and

C. Concluding Activities
1. Generalization/  After answering the graphic organizer, the
Formulation of the teacher will ask the pupils about the following:
Concepts  Who can enumerate the five types of
weather?
 What do you think is the difference of the five
types of weather?

2. Application
 COSTPLAYER
 The teacher will divide the class into two
teams.
 Each team will be provided with a box
containing same number and types of
clothing suitable for the different types of
weather.
 The box of clothes is 5 meters away for each
team.
 At the “on your mark, get set, GO!” signal,
one member of each team will put on the
clothes quickly depending on the type of
weather the teacher wants.
 He or she will then take off the clothes and
run back to the starting line.
3. Valuing  This should continue until each child had a
turn.
