EXPRESSING PURPOSE: 1/ OBJECTIVES: S.W.B.

T:
1- Answer some "WHY" questions using expressions of purpose.
2- be familiar with some expressions of purpose.
3- Use expressions of purpose to link 2 pairs of sentences.
4- Use flash cards to produce sentences using the grammar point dealt with.
5- write a dialogue by asking "why questions" then answering them using the expressions of purpose.

2/ Anticipatory set:
I'll ask my learners 2 questions about the previous reading text:
- Why does Kirsi get up very early?
- Why does she go to school by bus?
T. writes the answers on the WB.
3/ Direct instruction:
a) Kirsi gets up very early in order to prepare herself for the school.
b) She goes to school by bus so as not to arrive late.

1/ OBJECTIVES: S.W.B.T:
► identify the meaning of reflexive pronouns.
► Differenciate between the use of personal pronoun and reflexive pronoun.
► Use reflexive pronouns in sentences.
► Practise the use of reflexive pronouns by producing/ forming sentences.
2/ Anticipatory set:
I'll start the lesson by writing an example on the WB: Ahmed is taking to Peter. Then I ask
pps to identify the parts of the sentence. The 2nd example: Ahmed is talking to Ahmed.
( false) . We say : He is talking to himself .
Or I can refer to ther reading text ( Kirsi's e-mail) and ask them a question: why does Kirsi get
up very early? – I get up very early in order to prepare myself for the school.
3/ Direct instruction:(PRESENTATION PHASE)
He is talking to himself .
Himself is a reflexive pronoun.
- We use reflexive pronouns with some verbs when the subject is the same as the object.
4/ Guided Practice: (PRACTICE PHASE)
►Group Work: Choose the correct answer.
