BUHAY AT MGA SINULAT NI RIZAL

Name: Gemino, Sarah Joy B.

BSHM 4-1

1 . Reflection on my best learning lesson about Rizal’s life and writings

I assumed that knowing Rizal’s complete name, where he lived as a child, and what writings he written
was sufficient knowledge I shoud gain. In high school, we mainly studied his work, “Noli Me Tangere and
El Filibuterismo,” and now that I’m in college, my favorite thing I’ve learned about Rizal’s life is that the
first thing I noticed about him was that he lived a humble life. He did not chose for the wealthy lifestyle
that most of us desired. He had lived his life as simply as possible even before the Spaniards began to
watch him.

I think it was the work of his parents that made him live like this. I strongly believe that one’s lifestyle is
influenced mostly by their parents. I learned from Rizal’s life the importance of parents playing a role in
their children’s moral development. His life was a truly inspiring story. Not just as an ordinary story of a
Filipino, but a story of a very intelligent and talented Filipino, who is ready to sacrifice his whole life just
to give freedom and peace to his family and nation. Rizal’s writings that had an impact on me were Noli
Me Tangera, El Filibusterismo, and the letter to the women of Malolos.

As I mentioned earlier, Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo were part of my high school, and we were
watching a theater play about that. I also liked the part of doing reflection in each chapter of the two
stories when I was still in high school. Last but not least, the letter to the women of Malolos is because
we made a video presentation about it in our 4 th year college subjects, and I really felt Rizal’s support for
the women of Malolos in their petition to have a night school by giving them the letter even though he
was still in London at that time.

2 . Reflection on election 2022 - who you will vote as your president with justification based on the
following criteria maka-tao, maka-Diyos, maka-bayan, at makakakilkasan (200 – 250 words only).

As of now, I'm still thinking about who I will choose among the candidates for the presidency, but of all
the candidates, Bong bong Romualdez Marcos Jr. has my highest rate score. I believe that he can lead
the Philippines to grow the economy like his father's first term when he was president of the Philippines.
In Maka Bayan, he mentioned in one of his interviews that he wants the IATF to give permission for
churches to open, especially when people, sacristans, and priests are vaccinated, so that people who
want to worship and pray to the Lord can have access. Because this is really one of the things we need
today during the pandemic. In Maka tao and Maka Bayan, no matter what criticism and what others in
the government said to him, just like President Duterte said that he was a "spoiled brat", he did not
criticize and we know that until now he is still carrying in his family the controversies that erupted in the
2nd term of his father when he was still president of the Philippines. It did not affect him, he continued
or even his goal of leading the country in achieving its good goals for the country. And in Maka
Kalikasan, he also mentioned in his statement about poverty, is in agriculture. His statement:
"Agriculture is a big creator of jobs, so if the government invests publicly in agriculture, many will
immediately be involved there." It would also take care of the other problems we saw during COVID, the
lack of food supply. " I imagine the production of our natural resources will improve and the country will
earn more.
