(Inquiries, Investigation, Immersion)

Worksheet No. 12

Learner’s Name: ________________________________________________

Grade Level/Section: ________________________________________________
Date: ________________________________________________

I. LEARNING SKILLS
A. Most Essential Learning Competency
Make recommendations based on conclusions
B. Objective
Writes recommendations of a research study based on a conclusion.

II. INTRODUCTORY CONCEPT

When you make a “Research recommendation”, you can emphatically
state what are the next steps that need to be taken to address a problem, what are
the immediate actions that need to be implemented to solve a particular question,
what needs to be corrected and what needs to be avoided to solve a problem, what
is the feasibility of your proposed policy, statements about the nature and timing of
an evaluation plan that would be used to determine the effectiveness of the
proposed policy. Again, these recommendations should be strongly supported by
results of your study.
Recommendations are arguably the most important part of the analysis
phase—this is where you’ll suggest specific interventions or strategies to address
the issues and constraints identified in the assessment.
Recommendations should directly respond to key findings arrived at
through data collection and analysis. A process of prioritization is essential to
narrowing down findings, and once this is done, recommendations should be
developed that align with the most important findings.
Based on the findings and conclusions of the study, these serve as practical
suggestions for future research in similar fields. They are envisioned to further
improve the pertinent variables that were the subject of the investigation
undertaken.
Recommendations are expressed in clear and concise terms. They are
relevant to the research problems and feasible for implementation. The general
recommendations may also be stated giving suggested measures to concerned
agencies, institutions, or to the government that may lead towards the betterment of
society in general.
The researcher’s final recommendation is addressed to other researchers
who may want to pursue similar studies. Moreover, suggested topics of interest or
variables are given. In the case that the qualitative study is conducted to propose
an intervention program, the recommendation will be the adaptation of said
program.

Formulating the Recommendations of the Study

In preparing this part of your paper, remember that in making your
recommendations, you must show how your results support them. A
recommendation for a preferred alternative should include:
a. specific statements on what should be done, the steps required to
implement the policy, and the resources needed.
b. discussion of the benefits to the organization and what problems would
be corrected or avoided.
c. discussion of the feasibility of the proposed policy and
d. general statement about the nature and timing of the evaluation plan
that would be used to determine the effectiveness of the proposed
policy.
Writing a recommendation report usually involves:
 Describing a situation
 Stating what you’re evaluating
 Evaluating possible alternatives
 Proposing a solution to a problem
Conclusions show the readers the value of completely developed argument or
thesis. It is not a summary of work but a listing of major outcomes derived
from the study. It does not state what has been done in the study instead it
brings out the outcome of the results and discussion in terms of statements.
Recommendations are based on the results of your research and indicate the
specific measures or directions that can be taken. For example, a
clinical study might have implications for cancer research and might
recommend against the use of a particular hazardous substance.

It urges specific actions to be taken with regard to policy, practice, theory, or

subsequent research. They are specific suggestions that you make with regard to
further research on the topic. For instance, you can make recommendations on
subsequent research that can be conducted, especially, if there is an interest in
generalizing the findings beyond the study’s parameters. You may have identified
gaps in the literature that should be addressed, and to which your study may or may
not have contributed.
Research Study is a systematic attempt to answer questions and solve problems. It
includes activities like planning, research, organization and presentation. It is
a systematic write up on the findings of the study including methodologies,
discussion, conclusion etc. following a definite style. This report
communicates information which has been compiled as a result of research
and analysis of data and of issues.

III. ACTIVITIES
A. Practice Tasks
Task 1
Write sample recommendations on the given research title below. Write your
answer on a separate sheet of paper.

Title: Computer Benefits to Senior High School Students of Pamplona National

High School
Sample Recommendations
1. Researchers recommend this study to enhance the knowledge of
students on using the computer.
2. Researchers recommend to engage computer games for stress relief.
3. Researchers recommend the proper use of computer and its limitations.

Title: Correlation of Stress to the Study Habits of Grade10 Students of Pamplona

NHS S/Y 2019-2020

Recommendations:
1.____________________________________________________________
2.____________________________________________________________
3.____________________________________________________________

Title: Food Spoilage: Its Preventions and Effects

Recommendations:
1.____________________________________________________________
2. ____________________________________________________________
3.____________________________________________________________

Task 2
Given the Title, Findings and Conclusions below, give recommendations about
the research study. Write your answer on a separate sheet of paper.

Title: Perceived Motivational Factors of Senior High School Teachers in Using

Social Media and the Effects to Senior High Students in Pamplona National
High School.

Findings:
1. More tasks both for academic and household chores are not the reasons
for having no time opening social media application in its integration for
educational purposes.
2. The frequent reasons why teachers are motivated to use social media for
educational purposes are merely for school concerns and for
communication to colleagues and administrators.

Conclusions:
1. Students are able to search and gather information or ideas about issues
through the use of social media for educational purposes.
2. Lack of time for opening social media application due to more academic
task and household chores has the least effect to students in the
integration of social media for educational purposes.

Recommendations:
1. ___________________________________________________________
2. ___________________________________________________________
3. ___________________________________________________________

Task 3
Write the recommendations with the given title, findings and conclusions.
Write on a separate sheet of paper.
Title: DOUBLE-SHIFT SCHOOLING: A Breakthrough Solution in Pamplona
National High S/Y 2018-2019
Findings:
1. Majority of the students are in favor for the implementation of double-shift
system, because they have more time for themselves, studies, and having
quality time with family.
2. Students under the implementation of double-shift are experiencing
problem for time management.
3. There are students who prefer the regular class because they find it more
effective

Conclusions:
1. Students are not yet capable of time management.
2. Double-shift class sessions pose challenge to students’ punctuality and
flexibility.
3. Regular class is more advantageous for some students.

Recommendations:
________________________________________________________________

B. Assessment

Given is a table of a sample research study with title and recommendations. Write
at least 3 recommendations based on conclusions. Write your answer on a
separate sheet of paper.
