Why have you chosen to study the academic program?
The knowledge gained till now is embryonic, and I realize that to contribute something
innovative and new to this field I must learn all the aspects profoundly. Thus, I decided to
study for an MSc in Data Science from the University of Nottingham. It is a One-year
program The entire curriculum seems to be designed to fit all my criteria. Here, I will have
an opportunity to learn Machine Learning, Big Data, Data Modelling and Analysis, Linear and
Discrete Optimisation, Computer Vision, and work on the Research project. While managing
the projects, these areas of knowledge will provide me with innovative and creative tools for
gaining competitive advantages over other organizations. This program will also provide
some challenging skills and exciting tasks which are drivers of modern technologies that are
so digitized.
Why should the panel select you for this scholarship?

I won’t claim that my credentials will blow away the competition, or that I have some
exceptionally rare skill that makes me suitable. I got graduated with an excellent GPA during
which I enrolled as of Summer Intern where I learned IOT devices and their usage in every
industry, also prepared a white paper feasibility report. Further, I was involved in project
Intern and got the training of Cisco networking – CCNA in Routing & Switching, WAN
Network Design. Currently, I am working as a senior software engineer with this experience I
did various projects like MSCIT - RL Returns - WWISDM – Microsoft, AIG One Claim,
Genworth Financials. Moreover, with my interest in the field, I have also done a certificate
program to gain fundamental knowledge in some areas of data science. I feel that all of this
makes me adequately qualified for your scholarship, it doesn’t set me apart. What sets me
apart and what I think is unique and special about me, is my combination of work ethic and
my drive to succeed.
Why have you chosen to study at Nottingham?

There are a few other universities in the United Kingdom such as King’s, University of
Sheffield, University of Leeds, and Newcastle University that provide my chosen course but
this University has the perfect curriculum that I am looking forward to and the University of
Nottingham globally ranked 96 and 16 in the UK. The diverse cohort, academic standards,
experienced faculty, provision of immense support for the students, and the overall brand
reputation of the university add to the long list of factors to consider UoN as the next
chapter in my ambitious career. The research projects are undertaken by UoN recently and
excellent faculty would help me in learning the best and gain exposure in this field. This is a
particular field that is rare and fascinating for everyone to be aware of; hence, it is really
crucial for me to learn from the best through this University. My future at this university is
going to grow upwards with pivoting work-based learning, exposing new research and
technology, and experiencing other cultures and backgrounds.
What will be the developmental impact of your studies on your country of domicile /area of
work?
As a responsible citizen of India, I understand my responsibilities towards my nation. I have
already mentioned that after completion of my studies I would devote my energy and
caliber to the development of my country’s people. Being a data scientist, I would love to
understand challenges and be able to overcome the problems which are becoming an
obstacle in this particular field.
However, Data Science has been a widespread topic across my nation, and in India,
industries are moving towards the fourth industrial revolution, Automation, Artificial
intelligence and the internet of things have begun to shape our lives. In addition, data
science has revolutionized all major industry sectors including Banking, Healthcare,
Entertainment, Sports sector, and many more. Thus, with this rapid growth of data science
in India, I would like to grab the opportunity and try to gain knowledge about behaviors and
processes, Guide data-driven decision-making, also make software that increases the
security and privacy of sensitive data, write algorithms that process large amounts of
information quickly and efficiently, these extraordinary skills and knowledge will
definitely impact on my area of work in my country.
As I am currently working in Wipro Ltd as a software engineer and work on various roles, for
instance, I worked on the database to improve the performance of a system and was also
involved in implementing declarative programs such as declare expression and decision kind
of rules. Currently, in this role sometimes I faced obstacles in my work and this situation
creates a negative impact on my work and demotivates me but I believe that learning MSc
data science with practical knowledge from the University of Nottingham and implementing
it with smart work will help me to overcome this kind of situation. My international
exposure/work experience in my fieldwork also changes my mode of action towards my
work.
I hope you understand my enthusiasm, consider me being worthy of this scholarship at your
university.
Tell us more about your future career ambitions?

Indian IT sectors are growing rapidly and reached around US$ 93 Billion in 2021 with 7.3%
year-on-year growth. After gaining an immense amount of experience in the professional
field, I have a dream to have my own IT company through which I would be able to lead
global information technology, consulting, and business process services. Thus, I believe
technology is not just a technology but a way to live through technology. The famous Kevin
Kelly once said, “Humans are the reproductive organs of technology”. That touched my
heart and went deep in my head. Since then, I feel like I am made for this field. We give life
to technology and not the other way around.
Upon completion of your course, what do you plan to do?
I plan to come back to India after my graduation from the UK and stay with my family. There
are various thriving companies in my city that would give me better opportunities with an
internationally recognized degree from your institute. I would prefer to work as a software
data engineer at popular companies like MuSigma, Fractal Analytics, Accenture, Light IT,
ThirdEye Data Inc., Wipro, Tata Consultancy, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Larsen & Toubro
Infotech Ltd, Redington India Ltd. These companies are some companies that have big
names with optimistic employee culture which reflect the organization. It would be my
honor to join them.
After completing my graduation from UoN and acquiring an internationally recognized

degree, I would like to utilize my skills and work in some thriving data-oriented companies
so as to help real-life problem scenarios. I would prefer to work as a data scientist/data
analyst at popular international companies like MuSigma, Fractal Analytics, Accenture, Light
IT, ThirdEye Data Inc., Wipro, Tata Consultancy, Infosys, HCL Technologies, Larsen & Toubro
Infotech Ltd, Redington India Ltd for around 5-6 years. These companies are some
companies that have big names with optimistic employee cultures which reflect the
organization. With this experience, international exposure, and industry knowledge, as
mentioned earlier, I would like to then start my own IT company in this booming field. I
would want my company to provide optimistic and innovative solutions in a cost-effective
manner.
