Going through this data, write an Analytical Paragraph on house help turning criminals in 100-
120 words.
You could start like this:-
‘More than 700 criminal acts are committed across the country every year by domestic helps.
This alarming statistics comes from the National Crime Records Bureau's (NCRB) Crime of
India Report 2008 that lists 77,247 crimes committed in residential premises……….’

III. Answer the following questions in 100-120 words:


1. In the 2010 Bill proposed by the National Commission for Women, there was a zero-tolerance
towards employing domestic workers under the age of 18. The 2016 Private Member’s Bill
defines a ‘Minor Domestic Worker’ as one who is above the age of sixteen years, but below the
age of eighteen and has completed compulsory elementary education.
Keeping this above data in view, do you think Anil’s decision of employing Hari as his
househelp was justified? Comment with relevant facts and reasons.

2. (a) ‘He knew. But neither his lips nor his eyes showed anything..’ Explain the context of this
line.
(b) Give a logical reasoning on why Hari did not confront Anil over stealing his money. Did he
lack the courage for that or did he want to maintain good relations with Anil?
3. The story, ‘The Thief’s Story’ is an in depth study of the human mind. Comment.
