DESCRIPTION
The DM 705SUB is a fully modular SDH/PDH multiplexer and cross-connect, supporting multiservice access applications for fixed, wireless and cellular networks. The basic unit, 4U height, provides: 2 power supply slots (optional redundancy). 2 CPU/common logic slots for 2 types of modules: CPU32 for pure TDM/PDH applications no STM-1 capabilities. CPU64 for mixed SDH/PDH applications full SDH/STM-1 capabilities. CPU128 for mixed SDH/PDH applications 128xE1 ports cross-connect capability. 8 I/O slots for multiple modules. 2 High-Speed I/O slots for E3, T3 or STM-1 aggregate (optical and/or electrical). DS0 cross-connect, non-blocking, for up to 8 E1s (up to 248 time slots) with CPU32 and for up to 64 E1s (up to 1952 time slots) with CPU64 and for up to 257 E1s (up to 8224 time slots) with CPU128. Time slots can be configured either for data or voice, the matrix allows time slots from any interface to be allocated to any other port, facilitating drop-insert, bypass, broadcast and multi-point applications. Any E1 port, optical or electrical can be defined as backup for another E1. Data ports cover from low-speed (1200, 2400, 4800, 9600 and 19200bps) up to Nx64 kbps. Low speed protocol is X.50, for sync/async applications. Also available RS232/V.24/V.28 multi-drop capability, compatible with SCADA applications for utility customers. The V.35 interface can be utilized as aggregate using G.704-defined frame structure, allowing data/LAN/voice traffic over legacy microwave networks. Several optical interfaces for both STM-1 and E1 ports, for single mode or multimode fibers, with dual or single fiber interfaces, reaching up to 100 km.
LAN ports supporting L2/VLAN switching and L2/PPP aggregation with data rates of Nx64Kbps. Compatible with DM 991SE/CE/CR/CS, DM 704SE/CE, DM 706 CR/CS or any 3rd party PPP/E1 router. HS-STM-1 module enables Ethernet traffic encapsulation into SDH using standard GFP/VCAT multiplexing, supporting up to 14xVC12 per module. Each module enables one single GFP tunnel. A wide range of I/O modules are supported for a variety of applications and services: DM 705 HS-STM1E STM-1 aggregate, electrical interface. DM 705 HS-STM1FO STM-1 aggregate, optical interface. DM 705 HS-E3E - E3/T3 aggregate, electrical interface DM 705 E1-16 - 16 x 2 Mbps, E1, electrical interfaces (8 x 2 Mbps with CPU64) DM 705-E1Q 4 x 2 Mbps, E1, electrical interfaces. DM 705-FO1/2 1 up to 8 x 2 Mbps, E1, optical interfaces. Also compatible with the DM 8192S. DM 705-DSL2/8 2 or 8 x 2 Mbps, G.SHDSL modem interface, 2 and 4-wire. DM 705-V35D/6V.35 2 or 6 x 2 Mbps, data port with V.35, V.36/V.11, V.24/V.28 and X.21 interfaces. DM 705-HK new SCADA module for telemetry and alarms. DM 705-E1 single E1 port with balanced /unbalanced interfaces. DM 705-Switch - 8 x 10/100BaseT, LAN ports, Nx64Kbps, L2/VLAN switching DM705-IP 2 Gigabit Ethernet ports for L2/VLAN aggregation and GFP/VCAT LAN over SDH encapsulation. DM 705-G64 6 co-directional G.703, 64 kbps interfaces. DM 705-FXO 4/10 FXO-type PCM voice channels. DM 705-E&M 4 E&M-type PCM voice channels. Built-in G.SHDSL modems for 2 and 4-wires, compatible with remote DM 991 or any other 3rd party standard modem. Provides a high-density distribution node of data/voice/LAN services over copper infrastructure.
Built-in optical connectors compatible with the DM 8192S allow drop-extension of high-speed data/voice services over long distances. With optional WDM optical interfaces, significant savings in fiber infrastructure utilization can be achieved. Circuit Emulation over Packet LAN ports enabling transport of TDM circuits over Ethernet/IP networks. Supports Point-to-Point and Point-Multipoint topologies, VLAN tagging and QoS, with robust Clock Recovery mechanisms. Compatible with IERU EDDEthernet Demarcation Device and 3rd party standards compliant devices. Voice/FXS expansion board supports reverse polarity or 12/16 KHz pulse metering, for Hot-Line applications and Public Phones connectivity. Various analysis tools such as loops and BERT tests for each interface independently. Synchronization sources can be as follows: internal clock, regenerated from either E1, V.35 port, STM1 interface and from G.SHDSL port or from a 2048 KHz external clock (station clock). Automatic fallback to internal clock in case of lack of regenerated clock. The DM 705SUB, with CPU64/128 common logic module is available with an internal router allowing packet routing between the WAN (Frame Relay/PPP) interface at Nx64kbps and the Ethernet (10BaseT/100BaseTx) LAN interface. Up to 24 WAN ports can be utilized, each one with different IP address. Total speed of the 24 ports should not exceed 2048 kbps. WAN/routing interfaces supports RFCs 1661 and 1662 (PPP) and ITU-Q933 Annex A (Frame Relay) protocols. Operates as Static router or Dynamic router (RIP 1 and 2 protocols), or in both modes depending on the WAN port. A WAN/routing interface when configured to Frame Relay supports up to 1023 Virtual Circuits, and operates on ITU, ANSI and NONE standards. Remote management is SNMP-based connected via Ethernet port or in-band via WAN/Routing port and dedicated time slot. The DM 705 can be locally configured and monitored via V.24/RS-232 interface available in front panel. A comprehensive Network Management System, the DMView, is available for HP Open View or Windows.
