INTRODUCTION

The Advent of Internet has initiated an electronic revolution in the

Global Banking sector. The dynamic and flexible nature of this
communication channel as well as its ubiquitous reach has helped in
leveraging a variety of banking activities. The “Online Banking System” has
been developed to override the problems prevailing in practicing manual
system of the bank. This software is supported to eliminate or reduce the
hardships faced by existing manual banking system.
The Online Banking System provides many benefits to clients/users of
bank in terms of easy, fast and secure transactions, either through
Internet, Mobile Phones or Other Electronic Devices. Nowadays, Online
Banking System has become one of the most essential part of our daily life.
Online Banking Management System is the provision of providing financial
services using electronic communication and computation. In practice,
Online Banking System includes e-payment, e-shopping and e-banking.
The Application is reduced as much as possible to avoid errors while
entering the data. It also provides error message while entering invalid
data. No formal knowledge is needed for the user to use this system. Thus
it proves it is user-friendly. Online Banking System, as described above, can
lead to error free, secure, reliable and fast management system. It can
assist the user to concentrate on their other activities rather to
concentrate on the record keeping. Thus it will help in better utilization of
resources.
ABSTRACT

The purpose of Online Banking System is to automate the existing

manual system by the help of proposed computerized equipment and full-
fledged computer software, fulfilling their requirements, so that their
valuable data/information can be stored for a longer period with easy
accessing and manipulation of the same. The required software and
hardware are easily available and easy to work with.
Online Banking System, as described above, can lead to error free,
secure, reliable and fast management system. It can assist the user to
concentrate on their other activities rather to concentrate on the record
keeping. Thus it will help organization in better utilization of resources. The
organization can maintain computerized records without redundant
entries. That means that one need not be distracted by information that is
not relevant, while being able to reach the information.
The aim is to automate its existing manual system by the help of
proposed computerized equipment and full-fledged computer software,
fulfilling their requirements, so that their valuable data/information can be
stored for a longer period with easy accessing and manipulation of the
same. Basically the project describes how to manage for good performance
and better services for the clients.
OBJECTIVES OF PROJECT

The main objective of Proposed Online Banking System Project is to

automate the various activities and functions of any bank through Internet.
Online Banking System Project will facilitate to the bank employees and the
customers with the different modules. The Admin Module (for bank
employees) after being logged in can perform multiple functions digitally
like having access to users accounts, their details like personal details,
transactions details etc. The Client/User Module (for customers) have the
provision to access their account details, update the account and see the
transaction details as well as make proper changes accordingly.
Online Banking System is also known as Electronic Funds Transfer.
Using this system, the customer can also directly transfer the funds from
one bank to another, rather than going to the bank, stand in the queue and
asked for the cheque and even without carrying the cash. The purpose of
the project is to build software to reduce the manual work for managing
the Bank, Account, Cheque Book, Account Balance etc. It tracks all the
details about the Customer, Transaction & Balance. This project is very
much useful for the corporate sector and the private sector banks. The
banking industry will take a big leap, shape and explore like never before.
To add more knowledge about internet
banking the following are the secondary objectives of this research study.
1. To know how the internet banking has revolutionised the banking
sector.
2. To help the learners to know about the current concerns in the
internet banking.
3. To know how challenging internet banking has become and how the
banking sector applies different strategies to cope up with the
challenging environment.

EXISTING system Vs PROPOSED

SYSTEM

EXISTING MANUAL SYSTEM

In the Existing Manual Banking System, the clients/users had to wait
in long queues to perform their needed banking jobs. The traditional
system mostly followed tedious manual jobs and accessing the accounts of
the clients/users from the comfort of their homes was not possible. The
Online Banking System being primarily dependent upon the manual works
done by the bank employees, catering to a large number of clients/users
was slower and error prone. In fact the branches often lacked the
necessary connection or network among the central organization and
among themselves, making cross banking a difficult job for the users. The
customers also lacked the basic liberty to check the details and status of
their accounts on their own and according to their convenience. Daily basis
information updates and account transactions were not possible to be
tracked. Even to have such additional features, the user had to pay extra
lump of sum.

PROPOSED ONLINE SYSTEM

The Proposed Online Banking System aims to eliminate the
deficiencies that prevailed in the existing banking system. In the proposed
online banking system, the clients/users had the liberty to operate their
respective accounts from their own convenient locations. The general
banking jobs like checking balance and updating their account could now
be done very easily and the user could do it anytime. Availing the Online
Banking System, the clients/users can make necessary payments for their
other family members too and could make payments of any kinds of bills
very easily and fast. As the manual interventions in the systems are almost
null, chances of any error occurring is almost zero. The user would be
having the facilities to check monthly transactions, debit and credit history
and also make fund transfers to another valid particular account at
lightning speed.

MODULES OF PROJECT

The Module allows the users of the Online Banking System to be logged
into the system through the server and get connected with the activities and
facilities being provided to the customers. In order to log in, valid and particular
‘Login ID’ and ‘Password’ has to be given.

Login Module
The Login Module is used for managing the login details like login id and
password. There are two login modules, one for admin login and other for
client/user login.

Admin Module
In this module, the admin after being logged in can perform multiple
works digitally like having access to user’s accounts, their details including
personal detail, transactions details & many other important tasks. The admin
also oversees the transaction processes and nullifies any error or security
concerns.

Client/ User Module

In this module, the users have the provision to access the account details,
update the account and see the transaction details as well as make proper
changes accordingly. They can also make fund transfers to a valid recipient and
receive funds. They can also check their account balance and many other
associated tasks.

Other Modules
 Bank Management Module
 Cheque Book Module
 Transaction Module
 Account Management Module
 Account Balance Module
 Fund Transfer Module
 Account Opening Module & much more…
