    Admission Essay Open University

    First of all, thank you so much for giving me a chance to apply as an Open University student. I have
    been dreaming of becoming a student in this honorable academe. And so, I would like to take this
    opportunity to express my desire of fulfilling not only my dream becoming part of University of the
    Philippines but to also complete my bachelor’s degree here.

    As you may have noticed, I had been trying to finish my studies but it seems like the odds were not in
    my favor. My parents are not capable of sending me to college so I decided to take a risk and fund
    myself. I tried my best to juggle my studies and work (as a service crew in McDonald’s SM Baliuag) but I
    have dropped the ball the moment that I chose to work longer hours. Because I thought, earning
    enough money would make me capable of submitting all of the required deliverables at school. I then
    decided to quit college and earn money first before I could continue.

    After I married my husband, he then decided to send me back to pursue my bachelor’s degree and since
    I am extremely passionate about teaching, I then enrolled in SPCBA and tried to complete my bachelor’s
    degree in education. My grades were good and I had a promising record in the said academe, but the
    odds were once again not in my favor. I stopped once more to help my husband’s family recover
    financially since my father-in-law got sick and eventually expired. After that, I focused on building my
    career in the corporate world. From being a frontline agent, I tried to fast-track my way up the
    corporate ladder. And since my burning passion for teaching will never be put out, I gave my all to
    become a facilitator.

    Another opportunity came for me to enroll in my home town’s university. I grabbed that opportunity to
    be able to work and at the same time study from the comfort of our home. But then, I came to realize
    that if I will be given one last chance to finally graduate on the course closest to my heart, I should try to
    chase my ambition and become part of the academe that I aspire to see my name in.

    And for that reason, for me to finally contribute something on a larger scale, I hope that you can give me
    a chance to matriculate in the academe. My dream is to serve our beloved country. To teach the youth
    about what is right. As well as the truth about the richness of our culture and history. And for the level
    of knowledge that I have today, I doubt if I could reach my full potential without being given a chance to
    be taught by the most erudite individuals there is in this country. I hope that I can enroll, acquire and
    share knowledge in this institution. I must say that I am now physically, mentally, emotionally and
    financially ready to finish my bachelor’s degree. I will give none other than my best to exceed the
    standards provided by the University of the Philippines.

    Finally, my plan after completion of graduate study is to teach in a public school and spread awareness
    about historical revisionism on top of cultivating their knowledge about the subject that I teach.
