Disciplines and Ideas in the Applied Social Science

I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson the learners must be able to:
1. identify the goals and scope of counselling;
2. infer own perspective on the purpose of counseling by citing applicable
situation and;
3. value the importance of counseling in our life.

B. Lesson: Counselling: definitions, goals, and scope
C. Materials: PowerPoint Presentation
D. References: Teacher’s Guide (DIASS CG, p.1of 7), Textbook in Disciplines and Ideas
in the Applied Social Science

The teacher will ask questions pertaining to the previous lesson.
C. Motivation (Four Pics-One Word –Answer help)
D. Lesson Proper
a. Learning Activities:
Activity1: THINK-PAIR-SHARE
Pair up with a classmate. Assign a counsellor and a counselee. Practice
counselling session. In five minutes, the counselee will share life issues to the
counsellor. After five minutes, reverse roles.
b. Analysis
Processing Questions:
1. What have you feel about being a counselor? Being a counselee?
2. Were you able to help to solve the problem of your classmate? How?
3. As a counselee is it easy to share life issues to your classmate?
c. Abstraction
Interactive Discussion
The teacher will discuss the definition, goals and scope of counselling.
E. Application
Performance Task 1
Cite of two (2) situations wherein you needed any form of assistance about life
matters: academics, relationships, family, identity, and financial concerns, with
whom did you share your problem? Discuss each on the first column.
Then on the 2nd column. Briefly write how you were able to overcome those.
On the last column, write the names of your enablers whom you shared your
problems and helped you, state how he/she helped you. See attached rubrics for
grading.

Post Test- In half-crosswise paper.
