COURSE GUIDE
I. COURSE CODE/ TITLE: PE 101 (PATH-FIT 1) PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES TOWARDS HEALTH AND FITNESS I: MOVEMENT COMPETENCY TRAINING
II. COURSE OVERVIEW:
A. INTRODUCTION:
This course reintroduces the fundamental movement patterns that consist of non-loco motor and locomotor skills, which are integrated with core training to meet the demands
of functional fitness and sports performance. Emphasis will be on exercise regression and progression for the enhancement of fitness and the adaptation of movement competencies to
independent physical activity pursuits. In conjunction with fitness and wellness concepts, exercise and healthy eating principles, periodic evaluation will be conducted to one’s level
fitness and physical activity as well as eating patterns to monitor one’s progress and achievement of personal fitness and dietary goals.
B. COURSE OUTCOME(s):
At the end of the course, the student should be able to:
CO1: Explain and describe the concept of wellness and the importance of core training, mobility training and in improving health and being able to participate in life-long
fitness.
CO2: Identify and understand physiological and biomechanical concepts related to skillful movement, movement patterns, motor development and motor learning,
biomechanics, and developmental readiness to learn.
CO3: Demonstrate and apply knowledge of current technology by planning and implementing learning experiences that require appropriate use of technology to meet
lesson objectives.
CO4: Achieve and maintain a level of physical fitness for health and performance while demonstrating knowledge of fitness concepts, principles, and strategies.
This Course will help your physical and health formation through these competency standards

Now that I completed PE 101, I am able to:
1) Differentiate the key values and ways on how to achieve it.
2) Understand the basic concepts of anatomical terms and appreciate the ways in which they can be applied to the study of human movement.
3) Classify and describe the health benefits of exercises with accessories.
4) Execute and discuss the Basic movements skills related to fundamental patterns of motor skills.
5) Integrate and perform the different exercises with the use of accessories.
6) Create and design conditioning or developmental activities.
INTRODUCTION:
This course guide was fully prepared to guide you and reach a desirable level of fitness. It utilizes appropriate practices to accommodate the developmental needs of learners and
provide them a meaningful appropriate movement experience. The following key points will help you achieve the goals and requirements for this subject:
● Even though it is an ONLINE CLASS, you should observe and abide by the following house rules.
● Wear the proper PE attire in attending the classes on and before the time.
o For Boys: Shorts / Jogging Pants & Plain White Shirt (Round Neck)
o For Girls: Strictly Jogging Pants/Black Leggings & Plain White Shirt (Round Neck)

A. INTRODUCTION:
To pass this course, you should ENGAGE in all the required activities to develop self-fulfillment and confidence holistically. Wherein you have to EXPLAIN & ELABORATE it
thoroughly during the group reporting activity and instructional video presentations. EXPLORING from the given applications will help you create a well-designed and effective
CONDITIONING OR DEVELOPMENTAL ACTIVITIES. Facilitators or Instructors have to present digital rubrics as a form to EVALUATE the students on each graded activity.
B. FORMATIVE ASSESSMENT:
For this course we will be doing a lot of exercises and movement competencies. Instructors have to facilitate and check each student individually or in break rooms if they
are performing the given activities diligently. Thus, to enhance and monitor the skills and confidence of the students, also to avoid injuries and muscle soreness. Lastly, so that
students can perform better and apply all the corrections during the Practical Examinations and Video Presentations.
C. SUMMATIVE ASSESSMENT:
I. GROUP REPORTING/PRESENTATION
You will be assigned with specific topics to present online or on site e.g. Core Training, Mobility Training and Fundamental Movements in the form of Talk Show or Game
Show. With this type of activity we can really test the student’s creativity and communication skills. Also to promote a certain degree of collaborative learning while we
are on a Blended Learning Format.
II. PRACTICAL EXAMINATION / INSTRUCTIONAL VIDEO / WORK OUT PLAN PRESENTATION
We will be doing a lot of output-based activities since it is a Physical Education course. The said activities improve your learning and understanding as it has a visual and
auditory correspondence, which increases learner’s motivation that can specifically impact student’s ability to facilitate discussion and clarify problems from the topics.
i. Visual cues combined with audio plays a huge role in the comprehension and retention of the learners' learning. Thus, when video and presentations are used in the
virtual classroom or in a form of assessment, students are forced to think critically and creatively.

FINAL GRADE: 40% Midterm + 60% Tentative Final Grade
