09.17.22 Mariners Place Suarez On IL Activate INF Moore From IL
Anaheim, CA – Seattle Mariners President of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following
roster moves:
• Eugenio Suárez, INF, placed on 10-day disabled list (right index finger fracture).
• Dylan Moore, INF/OF, returned from rehabilitation assignment at Triple-A Tacoma and reinstated from
10-day Injured List (right oblique strain).
Suárez, 30, left last night’s game at Los Angeles-AL in the fourth inning with an injury to his index finger on his
right hand. Suárez has appeared in 142 games with the Mariners this season, batting .235 (120x511) with 72
runs scored, 23 doubles, 2 triples, 84 RBI, 8 HBP and 71 walks. Among American League leader, he currently
ranks 5th in home runs (31), 5th in games played (142), 6th in walks (71), T9th in RBI (84) and 12th in extra-
base hits (56). He has hit 6 home runs in his last 7 games, Sept. 7-16, including multi-home run contests on
Sept. 7 vs. Chicago-AL and Sept. 14 vs. San Diego. This is his 4th season in his career with at least 30 home
runs. Suárez and Paul Goldschmidt-STL are the only players to record 30 homers in the last four full seasons,
excluding 2020, curtailed by Covid.
Overall, Suárez has appeared in parts of 8 Major League seasons with the Tigers (2014), Reds (2015-21) and
Mariners (2022-c), batting .250 (1007x4031) with 578 runs scored, 176 doubles, 13 triples, 224 home runs, 631
RBI, 28 stolen bases and 465 walks in 1143 career games. He originally signed with the Detroit Tigers as an
international free agent on Oct. 9, 2008 and made his Major League debut with the Tigers on June 4, 2014 vs.
Toronto. He was named a National League All-Star in 2018.
Moore, 30, appeared in 1 game with Tacoma on a rehabilitation assignment on Sept. 16 at Las Vegas, going 1-
for-4 with 1 run scored and 1 stolen base. He was placed on the 10-day Injured List on Aug. 30 with a right
oblique strain (retroactive to Aug. 29). Overall this season, he has appeared in 89 games with Seattle, batting
.206 (34x165) with 31 runs, 8 doubles, 2 triples, 6 home runs, 19 RBI, 27 walks and 15 stolen bases. Moore was
previously on the 10-day Injured List from July 30-Aug. 10 with back spasms. Since his return from the IL on
Aug. 10, he is batting .278 (5x18) with 2 doubles, 1 home run, 3 RBI and 4 stolen bases while getting on base
at a .381 clip and slugging .556 (.937 OPS) in 14 games. He has appeared at 7 different position this season:
right field, shortstop, left field, first base, center field, second base and third base.
The California native was selected by the Texas Rangers in the 7th round of the 2015 MLB First-Year Player
Draft out of the University of Central Florida. Moore signed with Seattle as a free agent on Nov. 9, 2018. In 352
career Major League games, all with Seattle (2019-c), Moore is batting .203 (175x863) with 124 runs, 40 doubles,
6 triples, 34 home runs, 104 RBI, 105 walks and 55 stolen bases.
