Missoula Urban Demonstration Project (MUD) Named

as a Finalist for the 2022 .ORG Impact Awards

[Missoula, MT] – The Missoula Urban Demonstration Project (MUD) is pleased to announce that
they have been selected as a finalist in the 4th annual .ORG Impact Awards, which honors and
celebrates inspiring mission-driven organizations and leaders from around the globe who are
creating a positive impact in their communities. The awards are hosted by Public Interest
Registry (PIR).

MUD is one of the top five entries in the Environmental Stewardship category for their work to
provide tools and skills for sustainable living. For over 40 years MUD has empowered people to
live more sustainably through hands-on workshops, sustainable living demonstration projects,
and community events. Additionally, the MUD tool library provides access to over 3,000 tools to
community members.

Over 900 submissions were reviewed and scored by a panel of judges who are leaders in the
Internet, non-profit, and marketing sectors. All nominations were required to be tied to an active
website with a .ORG domain.

“We are honored to be a finalist for this award. Sharing resources is a critical way to cut back on
waste in our community and we are so glad that we can provide over 3,000 tools for our
community members to borrow. Our workshops also help people learn skills to reduce their
impact on the environment. It is incredible to see MUD be recognized with other organizations
from around the world.”

“The 2022 .ORG Impact Awards finalists represent the best of humanity. They are devoted to
addressing the most critical issues facing society today,” said Jon Nevett, President and CEO
of Public Interest Registry. “We received a record number of submissions from across the
world. We are thrilled to have the privilege of recognizing some of today’s most inspiring
champions for change—those who are working to increase access to healthcare and education,
championing diversity, supporting those in poverty, tackling climate change, and much more.
The work of these organizations illustrates the power of those who have committed to creating a
more healthy, equitable, and sustainable world for all.”
This year’s finalists and winners will be celebrated as part of the .ORG Impact Awards
