GROUNDS FOR ISSUANCE
The following grounds constitute this Affiant's reason for his belief that the laws of the
State of Florida were violated as stated above and the facts establishing the grounds for this
affidavit and the probable cause for believing that such facts exist are as follows:

This detective has beenLaw Enforcement Officer for 42 years and a Homicide Detective

Office.
PROBABLE CAUSE
On
Monday, August 30, 2010 at approximately 11:53 PM, Broward Sheriff's Office

deputies responded to 1386 NE 34 Street, Oakland Park, Florida reference to a 911 call of a
suspicious incident.
Upon arrival deputies met with witness REDACTED REDACTED who stated he drove to the residence
to check in on victim REDACTED
REDACTED Upon arrival, REDACTED looked through a window and
observed REDACTED lying on the floor in a pool of blood. REDACTED quickly retreated and called 911.
Deputies arrived, made entry into the residenceand observed REDACTED lying face down with his
hands tied behind his back and with what appeared to be single gunshot wound to the back oj
a
the head. Deputies also discovered the victim's vehicle, a 2006 Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck,
Florida tag REDACTED was missing from the residence. An autopsy on the victim was performed,
and the Broward Medical Examiner's Office ruled the manner of death a homicide. The victim's
vehicle was eventually recovered in Lauderhill on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at the Brampton
Court Apartment Complex. The vehicle was found doused with bleach inside and out.
During a search of the scene, a spent shell easing (RP-Luger 9mm) and a partially
fragmented projectile was recovered from within the residence. Soon after the search, it was
learned that the victim's wallet, Nintendo Wii game console, Apple laptop computer, and I-phone
had been stolen. Serial numbers for all the electronic devices were obtained and entered into
teletype.
fingerprintswere taken from the victim's apartment and from his body. A foreign
DNA and
DNA profile was found under the victim's fingernails. Various latent fingerprints and DNA swabs
were collected throughout the victim's residence.
During the course of the investigation, Detective Luis Rivera met with and obtained a
statement from the victim's domestic partner, REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED advised the victim had
been struggling with drug addiction.

In May of 2010 (3 months prior) the victim had a falling out with Jonathan Mizin over
money. On May 17,20 ] 0, Mizin showed up at the victim's residenceand stole the victim's bicycle
and damaged REDACTED REDACTED vehicle (OP1 0-05-2116). Later that day, Deputy James Wilson of
Oakland Park located Mizin in Fort Lauderdale and learned that Mizin had just pawned the
victim's bike. Mizin was arrested and charged with Burglary, Grand Theft, Criminal, Mischicf&
Dealing in Stolen Property. At the time of the homicide, Mizin was in custody at the Conte Facility.
REDACTEDalso stated that a week prior to the homicide, while away on business, the victim had stolen
approximately $2000.00 from him. REDACTED REDACTED suspected that the victim used the money for
drugs.
On September 3, 2010 Detectives Rivera and Joseph Ventura met with and interviewed
Jonathan Mizin at the Conte Jail and obtained a statement. Mizin stated he and REDACTED REDACTED

Over the course of the investigation numerous possible suspects were interviewed and
eliminated from being the source ofthe foreign DNA under the victim's fingemails.
In May of 2022 this detective learned that the National CODIS system had matched the
foreign DNA under the victim's fingernails to Aaron Michael Dobbins. Background records
showed that Aaron Michael Dobbins lived in Oakland Park Florida from 2010 through 2015. This
detectivecould not find any associate in the original investigation of Aaron Michael Dobbins to
the victim. REDACTED REDACTED was shown a picture of Aaron Michael Dobbins and advised that he
did not know him and knew of no association between Aaron Michael Dobbins and the victim.
In doing follow up on Aaron Dobbins pictures ofhim appear on several gay porn and dating
sites such as "Rub Him, Mature Gay Porn, Big & Furry Fuck, and Hot Gay Men".
Aaron Dobbins was found to be roommates with John Navarro living in Oakland Park at
104 Royal Park Drive. John Navarro had been interviewed and provided his DNA to Detective
Rivera earlier in the investigation. Navarro was a gay porn model who met the victim through the
internet.
Detective Luis Rivera received as

investigation cell phone records for John
part of his
Navarro's phone number 773-531-4503. John Navarro's phone called the victim at 12:28 a.m.
12:30 a.m. and 12:58 a.m. on 08/30/2010.Before that 12:58 a.m. call records show that John
Navarro called the victim's cellphone at 12:28, 12:30, and 12:33 a.m. In total records indicated
140 text messages between Navarro and the victim from 08/17/2010 through 08/30/2010. John
Navarro had been interviewed and provided his DNA to Detective Rivera earlier in the
investigation. Navarro was a gay porn model who met the victim through the internet and used the
nicknamed "Mr. Muscle Stud".

2010 phone records showed that the last cell tower for John Navarro's cellphone 773-531-
4503 on 08/30/2010 was at Riverside Place and Dixie Highway in Wilton Manors at 8:11 p.m.
This cell tower location is around 1.3 miles south of the victim's residence.
In
reviewing the recorded statement of John Navarro taken on 10/26/2010, Navarro stated
that he first met the victim REDACTED on line around July 2010 and arranged to meet him
at the victim's house to do a paid

massage. John Navarro stated that the victim lived in a "nice
house" in Oakland Park and had a red vehicle and a small dog. John Navarro stated that the victim
REDACTED told him that his partner was out o f town. Navarro staled that he took a picture
of the victim's vehicle and sent it to his roommate Aaron Dobbins. John Navarro stated that the
victim REDACTED could not get erect and so they did not have sexual relations. Navarro
stated that he went back to the victim's house a second time that same day by himself and that he
and Dobbins got into an argument afterwards. John Navarro stated that he then met the victim
REDACTED a third time with his
partner Aaron Dobbins at their house in Oakland Park
where both he the victim, Dobbins, and an unknown black male had sex with the understanding
that the victim, REDACTED , would hire Dobbins at a later date. John Navarro stated that he
never saw the victim again after that third encounter. Though John Navarro described his
relationship with the victim REDACTED being as over two months before the victim's
murder, he was never questioned as to
why he was calling the victim on 08/30/2010.
John Navarro gave no reasonable explanation as to why Aaron Dobbins DNA would be
under the victim's fingernails.
John Navarro stated that he had been dating Aaron Dobbins for five years and that Dobbins
was
very jealous.
In examining John Navarro's cellphone records (773-531-4503) obtained in 2010 in was
observed that just before Navarro contacted the victim in the series of calls around 12:28 p.m. on
08/30/2010 he was in phone contact over with Dobbins ten times from 12:04 through 12:19 p.m.
on 08/30/2010.
In looking at the victim's cellphone call history the last outgoing communicationsare at
9:45 p.m. on 08/30/2010.
On 05/24/2022 this detective travelled to Pasco County to obtain a DNA Search Warrant
to confirm the CODIS DNA match. This detective met with Detective Brian Jordan of the Pasco
County Sheriff's Office. This detective met with the Honorable Judge Kemba Johnson Lewis of
the Six Judicial Circuit whosigned the Search warrant to obtain Aaron Dobbins' DNA and bare
footprints. The Search Warrant was reviewed by Pasco County State Attorney Bobby Hale. The
Search Warrant was assigned Pasco County Case Number RH/0523AA27.
Once the Search Warrant was

signed this detective, Detective Brian Jordan and Pasco
County patrol deputies travelled to 36530 Somers Court in Zephyrhills. Contact was made with
Aaron Dobbins where he was transported to the Pasco County Sheriffs Office. The purpose ofthe
Search Warrant was explained to him about obtaining his DNA and bare foots prints were
explained to him at which tillie he stated "someone got hurt if you need that".

While waiting for Pasco County Sheriff's Office Crime Scene to arrive on the scene to take
Dobbin's bare footprints this detectiYe obtained Aaron Dobbins' DNA swabs.
After obtaining background information on Aaron Dobbins he was read his Miranda
Rights. As soon as this detective told him that I was from Broward County, Dobbins interjected
i,
'John Navarro my ex".
Aaron Dobbins stated that he first met John Navarro on a

gay dating site called "Big
Muscle" and fell in love with him because it was a
"special thing".
Aaron Dobbins stated that he and John Navarro began to live together but began to have
problems in their relationship. Aaron Dobbins stated the problems began because he was "just
coming out of the closet" while John Navarro had been out in the gay culture for years. Aaron
Dobbins stated that John Navarro was involved in group sex, bondage, borderline torture, fisting,
skat, etc. and he was not ready for any of those activities.
Aaron Dobbins stated that he last saw John Navarro since 2014 but still texted him on the
phone. Aaron Dobbins stated that John Navarro never spoke to him about being questioned by
Detective Rivera in 2010.
Aaron Dobbins was shown photographs ofthe victim REDACTED , the victim's truck,
and the victim's house (exterior and interior)and stated that the victim looked "vaguelyfamiliar".
Aaron Dobbins denied he had "*#nitely not been to the house".
When asked i f may have participated in any group activates with John Navarro and other
sexual partners Aaron Dobbins stated "no he wouldn't" that he "wanted to" but John Navarro
didn't want him to. Aaron Dobbins was asked if he and John Navarro ever had sex as a
group at
which again he stated no. Aaron Dobbins then changed his version of having sex with the victim
REDACTED "airing on

the side of caution and said maybe we had relations with him at
his apartment. Aaron Dobbins denied ever having a Aun because he had past "anger issues't
"
Aaron
Dobbins stated that he was only involved iwone indident where bondage was involved and it was
a video not involving the victim.
When Aaron Dobbins was confronted with his DNA being

fingemails, Aaron Dobbins stated that he was beat up in 2010 and went to the hospital and maybe
that was why his DNA was under the victim's fingernails (implying that REDACTED had
beaten him up).
Aaron Dobbins denied that John Navarro had ever sent him a
picture of REDACTED
REDACTED vehicle as John Navarro had stated to Detective Rivera in 2010.
Aaron Dobbins stated that his DNA under the victim's fingernails was "irrefutab/e" and

"you are right gmy DNA was there then I was there but I don't remember being there".

In 2010 Detective Rivera did not obtain barefoot prints from John Julio Navarro.
John Julio Navarro's bare footprints were needed to compare to the evidence collected
off the 2010 murder scene and therefore this detective authored a Search Warrant to obtain the
bare foot prints.
The Search Warrant was reviewed by ASA Rivera and then signed by the Honorable Judge
Ari Forth on 06/01/2022.
On 06/03/2022 John Navarro was located at his house at 1408 NW 5 Avenue in Fort
Lauderdale by VIPER Detective Erick Zamora. (BSO Case Number 90-2206-001091) Navarro
was detained for the execution of the Search Warrant. After Crime Scene Detective Paul Porter
obtained a set of John Navarro's barefoot prints he was read his Miranda rights and reinterviewed
about the listed case.
John Navarro stated that he rememberedthe 2010 interviewwith Detective Rivera and was
shown pictures of the victim REDACTED REDACTED and the victim's house and vehicle by this
detective. John Navarro stated that his memory ofthe events was not as clear as it was in 2010 but
that he told Detective Rivera the truth in 2010 and about events involving the victim.
Several topics that were discussed with John Navarro were inconsistentwith facts provided
to this detective earlier by Aaron Dobbins. John Navarro advised that he had gotten a recent phone
call from Aaron Dobbins, (after this detective had interviewed Aaron Dobbins) but before that he
had only received one text from Dobbins in six years. This conflicted with Aaron Dobbins
statement that he routinely texted and stayed in contact with John Navarro.
John Navarro stated that Aaron Dobbins was extremely jealous and that he and Dobbins
did not participate in group sex with other people due to Dobbins' jealousness. John Navarro also
stated that Aaron Dobbins would go on drug benders for days and during those times he would
seek out sexual encounters with other men. John Navarro denied he was involved in "bondage,
torture sex", or other deviant acts as Dobbins stated that he was and denied he had anything
unusual sexual with the victim in 2010. John Navarro stated that Aaron Dobbins was not involved
in any type of bondage during sex and that Aaron Dobbins stole many items and cash from him in
their relationship.

John Navarro stated that his contact with the victim REDACTED REDACTED was only a few days
or maybe a week in total.
John Navarro stated in the recent phone call from Aaron Dobbins that Dobbins seemed to
question whether or not he could have been involved in the listed murder and not remember it but
that Dobbins never denied being involved in the murder. Aaron Dobbins told John Navarro that
the victim REDACTED had his head blown off and was restrained when killed, It should be
noted that when this detective spoke to Aaron Dobbins this detective mentioned that REDACTED
REDACTED had been shot and executed but did not mention where on the body REDACTED was
shot.
When this detective told John Navarro that Aaron Dobbins' DNA had been found under
the victim's fingernails John Navarro began to cry and had obviously not been advised of that fact
when he spoke to Dobbins. John Navarro seemed convinced based on the DNA that Aaron Dobbins
was involved in the victim's murder.
John Navarro stated that after contacting this detective several times and leaving phone
messages Aaron Dobbins changed his cellphone number.
On 06/03/2022 this detective was informed by Fingerprint Examiner Jason Jardine that the
bare footprints taken in Pasco County of Aaron Dobbins were inconclusive to be compared to the
latent lifts from the crime scene lifts and better bare footprints of Aaron Dobbins were needed.
Since the testing of DNA has improved since 2010 this detective had Serologist Aida Ortiz
Nevarez retest the DNA taken from the crime scene in 2010. From this new testing Aaron Dobbins
DNA was matched to the DNA collected from both fingernails of the victims and Aaron Dobbins
DNA was matched to the DNA taken from the ligature used to restrain the victim.

GROUNDS FOR ISSUANCE
The following grounds constitute this Affiant's reason for his belief that the laws of the
State of Florida were violated as stated above and the facts establishing the grounds for this
affidavit and the probable cause for believing that such facts exist are as follows:
AFFIANT OUALIFICATIONS
This detective has been a Law EnforcementOfficer for 42 years and a Homicide Detective
for 26 years. This detective is currently a Homicide Detective with the Broward County Sheriff's
Office.
PROBABLE CAUSE
On Monday, August 30, 2010 at approximately 11:53 PM, Broward Sheriff's Office
deputies responded to 1386 NE 34th Street, Oakland Park, Florida reference to a 911 call of a
suspicious incident.
Upon arrival deputies met with witness REDACTEDREDACTED who stated he drove to the residence
to check inon victim REDACTED REDACTED Upon arrival, REDACTED looked through a window and
observed REDACTED lying on the floor in a pool of blood. REDACTEDquickly retreated and called 911.
Deputies arrived, made entry into the residence and observed REDACTED lying face down with his
hands tied behind his back and with what appeared to be a single w Ihot wound to the back of
the head. Deputies also discovered the victim's vehicle, a 2006 Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck
Florida tag 946-TFL was missing from the residence. An autopsy on the victim was performed,
and the Broward Medical Examiner's Office ruled the manner of death a homicide. The victim's
vehicle was eventually recovered in Lauderhill on Tuesday, August 31, 2010, at the Brampton
Court Apartment Complex. The vehicle was found doused with bleach inside and out.
During a search of the scene, a spent shell casing (RP-Luger 9mm) and a partially
fragmented projectile was recovered from within the residence. Soon after the search, it was
learned that the victim's wallet, Nintendo Wii game console, Apple laptop computer, and I-phone
had been stolen. Serial numbers for all the electronic devices were obtained and entered into
teletype.

DNA profile was found under the victim's fingernails. Various latent fingerprintsand DNA swabs
were collected throughout the victim's residence.
During the course of the investigation, Detective Luis Rivera met with and obtained a
statement from the victim's domestic partner, REDACTED REDACTED REDACTED advised lhe victim had
been strugglingwith drug addiction.

In May of 2010 (3 months prior) the victim had a falling out with Jonathan Mizin over
money. On May 17,2010, Mizin showed up at the victim'sresidence and stole the victim's bicycle
and damaged REDACTEDREDACTED vehicle (OP10-Q5-2116). Later that day, Deputy James Wilsonof
Oakland Park located Mizin in Fort Lauderdale and learned that Mizin had just pawned the
victim's bike. Mizin was arrested and charged with Burglary, Grand Theft, Criminal, Mischief &
Dealing in Stolen Property.Atthe time of the homicide, Mizin was in custody atthe Conte Facility.
REDACTED also statedthat a week prior to the homicide, while away on business, the victim had stolen
approximately$2000.00 from him. REDACTED REDACTED suspected that the victim used the money for
drugs.
On September 3, 2010 Detectives Rivera and Joseph Ventura met with and interviewed
Jonathan Minn at the Cont Jail and obtained a statement. Mizin stated he and REDACTED REDACTED
(AKA Chad) met a year prior while working at a Catering Company. He stated they both would
get high together and would often get their drugs from a known drug bouse in Fort Lauderdale
(1043 NE 10? Avenue) also known as "The Spot". This area is not far from Holiday Park in Fort
Lauderdale.
Over the course investigation numerous possible suspects were interviewed and
of the
eliminated from being the source ofthe foreign DNA under the victim's fingernails.
May of 2022 this detective learned that the National CODIS system had matched the

foreign DNA under the victim's fingemails to Aaron Michael Dobbins. Background records
showed that Aaron Michael Dobbins lived in Oakland Park Florida from 2010 through 2015. This
detective could not find any associate in the original investigation of Aaron Michael Dobbins to
the victim. REDACTEDREDACTED was shown a picture of Aaron Michael Dobbins and advised that he
did not know him and lmew of no associationbetween Aaron Michael Dobbins and the viclim.
In doing follow up on Aaron Dobbinspictures ofhim appear on several gay porn and dating
sites such as "Rub Him, Mature Gay Porn, Big & Furry Fuck, and Hot Gay Men".
Aaron Dobbins was found to be roommates with John Navarro living in Oakland Park at
104 Royal Park Drive. John Navarro had been interviewed and provided his DNA to Detective
Rivera earlier in the investigation.Navarro was a gay porn model who met the victim through the
internet.
Detective Luis Rivera received as part of his investigation cell phone records for John
Navarro's phone number 773-531-4503. John Navarro's phone called the victim at 12:28 a.m.
12:30 a.m. and 12:58 a.m. on 08/30/2010.Before that 12:58 am call records show that John
Navarro--called- - - -- - ---
140 text messages between Navarro and the victim from 08/17/2010 through 08/30/2010. John
Navarro had been interviewed and provided his DNA to Detective Rivera earlier in the
investigation.Navarro was a gay porn model who met the victim through the internet and used the
nicknamed "Mr. Muscle Stud".

2010 phone records showed that the last cell tower for John Navarro's cellphone 773-531-
4503 on 08/30/2010 was at Riverside Place and.Dixie Highway in Wilton Manors at 8:11 p.m.
This cell tower location is around 1.3 miles south of the yictim's residence.
In reviewing the recorded statement of John Navarro taken on 10/26/2010, Navarro stated
that he first met the victim REDACTED on line around July 2010 and arranged to meet him
at the victim's house paid massage. John Navarro stated that the victim lived in a "nice
to do a
house" in Oakland Park and had a red vehicle and a small dog. John Navarro stated that the victim
REDACTED told him that his partner was out of lown. Navarro stated that he took a picture
oftbe victim's vehicle and sent it to his roommate Aaron Dobbins. John Navarro stated that the
victim REDACTED REDACTED could not get erect and so they did not have sexual relations. Navarro
stated that he went back to the victim's house a second time that same day by himselfand that he
and Dobbins got into an argument afterwards. John Navarro stated that he then met the victim
REDACTED a third time with his partner Aaron Dobbins at their house in Oakland Park
where both he the victim, Dobbins, and an unknown black male had
with the understanding sex

never saw the victim again after that third encounter. Though John Navarro described his
as being over two months before the victim's

relationship with the victim REDACTED
murder, he was never questioned as to why he was calling the victim on 0800/2010.
John Navarro gave no reasonable explanation as to why Aaron Dobbins DNA would be
under the victim's fingernails.
John Navarro stated that he had been dating Aaron Dobbins for five years and that Dobbins
was very jealous.
In exr h Fb John Navarro's cellphone records (773-531-4503) obtained in 2010 in was
observed thatjustbefore Navarro contacted the victim in the series of calls around 12:28 p.m. on
08/30/2010 he was in phone contact over with Dobbins ten times from 12:04 through 12:19 p.m.
on 08/30/2010.
In looking at the victim's cellphone call history the last outgoing communications are at
9:45 p.m. on 08/30/2010.
On 05/24/2022this detective travelled to Pasco County to obtain a DNA Search Warrant

to confirm the CODIS DNA match. This detective met with Detective Brian Jordan of the Pasco
County Sheriff's Office. This detective met with the Honorable Judge Kemba Johnson Lewis of
the Six Judicial Circuit who signed the Search warrant to obtain Aaron Dobbins' DNA and bare

Search Warrant was assigned Pasco County Case Number RH/0523AA27.

Once the Search Warrant was signed this detective, Detective Brian Jordan and Pasco
County patrol deputies travelled to 36530 Somers Court in Zephyrhills. Contact was made with
Aaron Dobbins where he was transportedto the Pasco County Sheriff' s Office. The purpose ofthe
Search Warrant was explained to him about obtaining his DNA and bare foots prints were

While waiting for Pasco County Sheriffs Office Crime Scene to arrive on the scene to take
Dobbin's bare footprints this detective obtained Aaron Dobbins' DNA swabs.
After obtaining background information on Aaron Dobbins he was read his Miranda
Rights. As soon as this detective told him that I was from Broward County, Dobbins interjected

John Navarro my ex".
Aaron Dobbins stated that he first met John Navarro on a gay dating site called "Big
Muscle" and fell in love with him because it was a "specialthing".
Aaron Dobbins stated that he and John Navarro began to live together but began to have
problems in their relationship.Aaron Dobbins stated the problems began because he was "just
coming out of the closet" while John Navarro had been out in the gay culture for years. Aaron
Dobbins stated that John Navarro was involved in group sex, bondage, borderlinetorture, fisting,
skat, etc. and he was not ready for any ofthose activities.
Aaron Dobbins stated that he last saw John Navarro since 2014 but still texted him on the
phone. Aaron Dobbins stated that John Navarro never spoke to him about being questioned by
Detective Rivera in 2010.
Aaron Dobbins was shown photographs ofthe victim REDACTEDREDACTEDthe victim's truck,
and the victim's house (exteriorand interior) and stated that the victim looked uvagueb,AmiUar".
Aaron Dobbins denied he had "dejinitelynot been to the boise".
When asked if may have participated in any group activates with John Navarro and other
sexual partners Aaron Dobbins stated 50 he wouldn't" that he "wantedto" but John Navarro
didn't want him to. Aaron Dobbins was asked if he and John Navarro ever had sex as a group at
which again he stated no. Aaron Dobbins then changed his version of having sex with the victim
REDACTED "airing on the side ofcaution" and said maybe we had relations with him at
his apartment. Aaron Dobbins denied ever having a gun because he had past "anger issues". Aaron
Dobbins stated that he was only involved in one incident where bondage was involved and it was
a video not involving the victim.
When Aaron Dobbins was confronted with his DNA being under REDACTED : S,
fingernails, Aaron Dobbins stated that he was beat up in 2010 and went to the hospital and maybe
that why his DNA was under the victim's fingernails (implying that REDACTED
was had
beaten him up).
Aaron Dobbins denied that John Navarro had ever sent him a
picture of REDACTED
REDACTED vehicle as John Navarro had stated to Detective Rivera in 2010.
Aaron Dobbins stated that his DNA under the victim's fingernails was "irrefutab/e" and
"you are right if my DNA was therethen I was there but I don't remember being there".

In 2010 Detective Rivera did not obtain barefoot prints from John Julio Navarro.
John Julio Navarro's bare footprints were needed to compare to the evidence collected
off the 2010 murder scene and therefore this detective'authoreda Search Warrant to obtain the
bare foot prints.
The Search Warrant was reviewed by ASA Rivera and then signed by the Honorable Judge
Ari Porth on 06/01/2022.

was detained for the execution of the Search Warrant. After Crime Scene Detective Paul Porter
obtained a set ofJohn Navarro's barefoot prints he was read his Miranda rights and reinterviewed
about the listed case.
John Navarro stated that he remembered the 2010 interviewwith Detective Rivera and was
shown pictures of the victim REDACTED REDACTED and the victim's house and vehicle by this
detective.John Navarro stated that his memory of the events was not as clear as it was in 2010 but
that he told Detective Rivera the truth in 2010 and about events involving the victim.
Several topics that were discussed with John Navarro were inconsistent with facts provided
to this detective earlier by Aaron Dobbins. John Navarro advised that he had gotten a recent phone
call from Aaron Dobbins, (after this detective had interviewed Aaron Dobbins) but before that he
had only received one text from Dobbins in six years. This conflicted with Aaron Dobbins
statement that he routinelytexted and stayed in contact with John Navarro..
John Navarro stated that Aaron Dobbins was extremelyjealous and that he and Dobbins
did not participatein group sex with other people due to Dobbins' jealousness. John Navarro also
stated that Aaron Dobbins would go on drug benders for days and during those times he would
seek out sexual encounters with other men. John Navarro denied he was involved in "bondage,
unusual sexual with the victim in 2010. John Navarro stated that Aaron Dobbins was not involved
in any type of bondage during sex and that Aaron Dobbins stole many items and cash from him in
their relationship.

John Navarro stated that his contact with the victim REDACTED was only a few days
or
maybe a week in total.
John Navarro stated in the recent phone call from Aaron Dobbins that Dobbins seemed to
question whether or not he could have been involved in the listed murder and not remember it but
that Dobbins never denied being involved in the murder. Aamn Dobbins told John Navarro thai
the victim REDACTED REDACTED had his head blown off and was restrained when killed. It should be
noted that when this detective spoke to Aaron Dobbins this detective mentioned that REDACTED
REDACTED had been shot and executed but did not mention where on the body REDACTED was
shot
When this detective told John Navarro that Aaron Dobbins' DNA had been found under
the victim's fingernails John Navarro began to cry and had obviouslynot been advisedofthat fact
when he spoke to Dobbins. John Navarroseemed convincedbased on the DNA that Aaron Dobbins
was involved in the victim's murder.
John Navarro stated that after contacting this detective several times and leaving phone
messages Aaron Dobbins changed his cellphonenumber.
On 06/03/2022 this detective was informed by FingerprintExaminer Jason Jardine that the
bare footprints laken in Pasco County o f Aaron Dobbins were inconclusive to be compared lo the
latent lifts from the crime scene lifts and better bare footprints of Aaron Dobbins were needed.
Since the testing ofDNA has improved since 2010 this detective had Serologist Aida Ortiz
Nevarez retest the DNA taken from the crime scene in 2010. From this new testing Aaron Dobbins
DNA was matched to the DNA collected from both fingernails of the victims and Aaron Dobbins
DNA was matched to the DNA taken from the ligature used to restrain the victim.
