8 Heat and Temperature
8 Heat and Temperature
I. CONTENT STANDARD
The learners demonstrate an understanding of heat and temperature and the effects of
heat on the body.
The learners shall be able to discuss phenomena such as blue sky, rainbow, and red
sunset during using the concept of wavelength and frequency of visible light.
III. OBJECTIVES
Key Questions
Procedure:
1. Half fill the three containers with equal amount of cold water. Arrange them next to one
another.
2. Place your finger for a while into any of the containers.

F. Analysis
Explaination:
1. In your own Idea, what is heat?
2. What is temperature?
3. What is the difference between heat and temperature?
F. Abstraction
Heat on its definition, may reffered to as the thermal energy in transit. This
energy is transferred from one body to another due to temperature differences.
Heat is measured in terms of kilocalorie, calorie, british thermal unit (BTU), and joules.
The kilocalorie (kcal) is the quantity of heat needed to raise the temperature of kilogram
of water by one degree celcius.
Heat transfer occurs continuously until the two bodies in contact acquire the same
temperature.
G. Application
Let the students use tools to measure the heat and temperature to better
understand the difference between them.
IV. Evaluation
