For the facilitator:
As a facilitator, you are expected to orient the learners on how to
use this module. You also need to keep track of the learners' progress
while allowing them to manage their own learning at home.
Furthermore, you are expected to encourage and assist the learners as
they do the tasks included in the module.

Recreational Activity. Specifically, it seeks to achieve the learning
competencies, Self- assess health related fitness (HRF) status, barriers to
physical activity assessment participation and one’s diet (PEH12FH-llg-i-6).

And we will focus our learning objectives with the following:


1. Determine how eating habits affect one’s participation in any
recreational activities.
2. Identify eating habits and examine how these affects in dealing with
physical activities.

Eating habits deals with a person’s choice and decision what


kind of food they want to eat, why and with whom they want to eat, and
having their own manner of obtaining, storing, using, and even
discarding food. Thus, individual, social, cultural, religious, economic,
environmental, and political factors influence people’s eating habits.

TYPES OF EATING HABITS

✓ Fueling for performance – before heavy training, an athlete needs the


right kind of food that can provide the proper fuel for his or her energy
requirement.
✓ Emotional eating - the practice of consuming a large amount of food in
response to emotions instead of hunger.
✓ Social eating – a person indulges food even if they are not hungry for
the sake of being sociable and not offending the host or the group.
✓ Distracted eating – eating while watching tv or recreation events for
extended periods of time possess a serious risk to one’s health. Many do
not pay attention to their meal as they are distracted by what they are
watching; thus, they tend to eat more.

habits affect your recreational activity participation and understand the
importance of preparedness in participating to an activity despite of
health/fitness issues and concerns. You may have learned also some idea
in engaging to recreational activity considering of health/fitness issues and
concerns and how ready you are to perform the said activity in relation to
your food intake. Hopefully when you are going to participate in a
recreational activity you may be able to apply your learning in this lesson.
