In the very first place, who else than Allah Almighty to be thanked with limited vocabulary for His infinite and indescribable guide, support and blessings with the name of Whom I got the energy and spirit to initiate, compile and conclude this report. Services Department - Sui Southern Gas Company Limited for granting me the opportunity & support in gathering all the relevant information & completion of my projects. Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd. is Pakistan's leading integrated gas Company, engaged in the business of transmission and distribution of natural gas besides construction of high pressure transmission & low pressure distribution systems. The company with: y y y y y Transmission network of 3,062 Km. Distribution network of 27,542 km. Compression Capacity of 62,600 BHP. Comprising 2780 KM of high pressure pipeline ranging from 12 - 24" in diameter. Gas meter manufacturing plant has an annual production capacity of over 510,000 meters.

The Company has an authorized capital of Rs. 10 billion of which Rs 6.7 billion is issued and fully paid up. The Government owns the majority of the shares which is presently over 70%.The company also owns and operates the only gas meter manufacturing plant in the country, under an agreement with Schlumberger Industries-France, having an annual production capacity of over 300,000 meters.

N.E.D. University of Engineering & technology, Pakistan is one of the pioneers in serving the nation by educating not only the youth as a part of stabilizing the future but all those who consider themselves as ones lacking behind with the footsteps of the entire world. It contributes to readily embrace challenge and new ideas and constantly strive for excellence. OBJECTIVE: Education is the key to the door of success and N.E.D. University of Engineering & technology, Pakistan serves this most consideration-oriented purpose not only by providing the standards in numerous fields but by striving to maintain these standards and at the same time expanding its efforts by exploring modern sciences & techniques. Altogether over 4,000 regular students are enrolled in the 19 departments functioning under Different faculties as well as Advanced research studies board, center for continuing engineering. Almost 4 percent of the students are foreigners who have come to the N.E.D. University of Engineering & technology, Pakistan from 23 different countries of the world.

Department OF CIVIL Engineering :


The Department of Civil Engineering is the oldest engineering department of Pakistan which since 1922 has been actively contributing in transforming academia and developing educational infrastructure. At undergraduate level it offers a competitive four-year degree programme based on a comprehensive curriculum. In 1979, Department started its Postgraduate programme leading to Masters in Civil Engineering by course work and at the verge of new millennium incepted Masters of Engineering by research. Ever since the programme has emerged as a dynamic, continuously evolving academic feature providing us a competitive edge over other institutions.

QUALIFICATION:
The updated corporate world demands the combination of well-education, self-devotion & highly intellectual capabilities critically analyzed on the basis of competent managerial skills. Thus, in order to step in and move ahead with the heavenly developing era, one is not only required to be goal-oriented but to be focused and determined in this challenging scenario. After pursuing the degree of Bachelor of Engineering (Civil) program offered by a well-recognized department at a well acknowledged institute of Pakistan with 72.5% , I belief I am one among the most capable, intellectual and hardworking graduate. I attained INTERMEDIATE (Pre-engineering) Degree from P.E.C.H.S. College with A-Grade in 2004 and completed MATRICULATION from Little Folks Secondary School with A-1 Grade.

As a foundation to business sector, I enriched my professional learning process through internship program in SSGC. I have learned how to work in challenging environment and what quality should an individual possesses to proof his work in high ranked organization. I am more than ready to dedicate myself in serving the organization I work for and thus my homeland because I seek pleasure in accepting, managing and accomplishing challenges which are the integral part of encumbrance towards development. I, therefore, look forward to acquire a growth oriented and challenging position in a progressive working environment where my professional capabilities can be applied and exist to permit my long term contribution in a highly commercial and professional organization.

Administration Services Department of Sui Southern Gas Company Ltd. (SSGCL), a part of Management Services, is governed by Sqn. Ldr.(R).Amir Mumtaz Khan as Acting General Manager. The Department is comprised of Three Sections in Major: 1. PEP - Headed by Chief Manager Hafiz Azeem Siddiqui Includes: Transport., Lease.

2. Facilitation - Headed by Chief Manager Mr. Tariq Siddiqui Includes: Repair & Maintenance, Canteen, 3. Civil works -Headed by Chief Engineer Mr. Mazhar Abro

Activity Works Requirement Form shall be sent to Consultant. Consultant will prepare the CONCEPT PLAN in accordance with the works requirements and submit to CW-AS deptt. within 07 days after receiving the above form. CW-AS will send the Concept Plan to IT & Services Deptt. for their approval / comments. CW-AS Consultant

IT & Services Deptt. will provide their Approval Comments (if IT / Services any) to CW-AS within 03 days. i) CW-AS will send the approved Concept Plan to Consultant for CW-AS preparation of Tender Documents, BOQ & Cost Estimate. ii) If there is any amendment / changes advised by the User CW-AS Deptt. the same will be sent to Consultant for incorporating the changes and submission of revised Concept Plan. iii) Consultant will submit the tender Documents, BOQ & Cost Consultant Estimate within 07 days to DGM (AS). For Consultation, Consultant will present at 6th Floor Conference Consultant Room, Admin Services Deptt. as per schedule at Flag-B. (Ref # GM (AS)/Pro/14/14.13.1/04/742 dated October 18, 2004) The Tender Documents will be prepared in Four Packages; Consultant i) Civil & Plumbing Works. ii) Furniture Works. iii) Electrical & Air-Conditioning Works. iv) Networking & Data Cabling. CW-AS, IT and Admin Services Deptt. shall invite the bids for their respective works, as per Companys Policy / Management approval, i) Civil & Plumbing Works. ii) Furniture Works. iii) Electrical & Air-Conditioning Works. iv) Networking & Data Cabling. Bids received from the Contractors, respective deptt. will send it to Consultant for preparation of Technical Evaluation and recommendation.

Technical Evaluation; i) Shall be sent to MM Deptt. (if bids are invited through MM MM Deptt. Deptt. ) or ii) CW-AS / Respective deptt. obtain the necessary approvals for CW-AS / IT / award of work to the Contractor based on the Technical Services Evaluation and recommendation submitted by the consultant. After award of work Consultant will arrange; i) Regular Weekly site visits and submit the report to DGM (AS). ii) Timely approval (within 03 days) of make and material to be used as per BOQ under intimation to DGM (AS). iii) Timely resolve the queries / issues (within 03 days) from Contractor / User Deptt. iv) Intimate DGM (AS) for any ambiguity between BOQ and Drawings, additional or extra items with reasons. Based on the reasons / recommendations submitted by Consultant, CW-AS will obtain Management approval for additional / extra works. Running Bills / Final Bills, submitted by the Contractor shall be forwarded to the Consultant for verification of Quality, Measurement and Amount. After receiving verified Bills by the Consultant, CW-AS will process the Bills as per Companys procedure. While Working with Civil Works department, I had the chance to work on following assignments in various capacities. Details of these projects can be viewed at mentioned annexure: 1) Renovation / Up gradation of Union Office at SSGC Head Office Complex.(Annex-1) - Site visit & preparation of concept plan with the help of AutoCAD R-14. - Preparation of Bill of Quantities - Preparation of Engineers Estimate. - Preparation of monitoring schedule. 2) Establishment of Medical Center at Sadder Zone SSGC Karachi (Annex-2) - Site visit & preparation of concept plan with the help of AutoCAD R-14. - Preparation of Bill of Quantities. - Preparation of Engineers Estimate. 3) Site Visit of different going civil works projects. 4) Establishment of Medical Center at Dope yard F-76 SITE SSGC Karachi (Annex-3) 5) Preparing Status reports on various ongoing & completed Civil Works Projects in co-ordination with (Annex-4)

Initiating with the name of Allah, as I started the internship program in SSGCL, the schedule, standards and guidelines were provided in order to embrace performance for accomplishing each and every assigned task. God has blessed with the knowledge and intellectual capabilities and it is we who have the power to learn from lifes opportunity-granted experiences. As a part of my professional learning I dealt with people of different calibers and tried to adapt some extensively devoting and inspirational attributes. The internship engagements focused on: y y y y y y y y y y The organizational design. Executive decision making, authority and operations. Evaluating, valuing and implementing departmental work processes. Analyzing competitive positions. Adapting more professional techniques and re-structuring the learnt strategies. Increasing emotional intelligence and innovative skills. Experiencing motivational power and effectiveness. Assessing impact of evaluating criteria on individual and organizational growth.

With the name of God Almighty, I completed and concluded my projects, assignments, report and internship which has brought influential and impacted advancements to formulate a personal leadership philosophy. This experience lead me to a broad way of emerging technology, techniques and strategies, thus granted a healthy platform for students to widen organizational and managerial skills.
