REFLECTION PAPER

In this subject 21st century Literature of the Philippines & of the world,
thought me on how to develop critical thinking skills through
understanding the deep meaning of different literature around the world.
This subject took me back in time and learn about the life before us.

In the first lesson we tackled about the Geographic, Lingusistic and


Ethnic Dimensions of Philippine Literary History from Pre-Colonial to
the Contempopary wherein in this lesson,it provides the Introduction to
literature and further define what is Literature, The Literary Periods in
Philippine Literature and the essential elements of literary pieces under
different periods of literarure. Literarure is part of our everyday lives and
it’s important to know more. This lesson added knowledge about how
Literarure and famous Authors evolved in different Eras or Period of
Times. We also discovered Golden literatures LIke Poetry, Novels,
Songs, Short stories and more hat has been preserv and use to study
literture until now such as the Noli Me Tangere and El Filibusterismo that
was written by Dr. Jose Rizal. THis helps me on how to interpret and
identify different part of works of literature. The next lesson was about
Identifying Representative Texts from the Regions. The authors produced
variety of text because of differences. I learned about the calssification of
Lierarature and it made me proud due to the power of Native tongue to
create a wonderful literary texts. The 3rd lesson was Conventional & 21st
century Genres. This lesson is about the different Major literary
devices(POETRY, DRAMA, FICTION AND NON-FICTION) and the
Modern Literary Genres. In this lesson, I learned how to create a blog and
to retell stories using Modern literary genres. In this lesson we needed to
posses literacy skills which include technological abilities to
communicate and interpret coded language and decipher graphics. In the
4th lesson is about Creative Literary Adaptation. In this week, we tackled
about the Multimedia and its concepts and the uses of Multimedia and
its formats. We did some activities regarding the use Multimedia in
literary works. What we learned in ICT is beneficial to this lesson
because incorporated in this lesson is the use of multimedia that plays an
important role in presenting a creative version of a certain literary piece.
The 5th lesson is about Literary Adaptation with ICT skills empowerment.
In this lesson I learned how to demonstrate the ability to interpret specific
literary genre, creates a unique literary adaptation through multimedia
presentation , illustrates a creative literary adaptation with one’s ICT
skills and appreciated the use of multimedia to enhance ICT skills. By
using literary digital adaptations, it made the learning more interesting
and fun. The 6th lesson or the last lesson for the 3rd quarter is about
Evaluating the Adaptation of a Literary Text Using Self- and Peer-
Assessment Based on Rationalized Criteria. In this lesson I learned how
to evaluate and assess literary adaptations. Because of this lesson I
discovered the importance of criticizing your works, reacting on different
video contents, and giving reviews or judging someone in a nice way.
This encourages students to critically reflect on each other’s work, helps
to develop judgement skills, Encourages students to critically reflect
their own learning progress and performance, Helps students become
autonomous learners,Helps students be more aware of their weakness and
strength,Encourages students to be more responsible for their own
learning.This lesson’s goal is to fight the disadvantage of this such as
Self-assessment can be subjective because students may not be sincere
and may even over-evaluate their own performance,Peer pressure and
friendship can influence the reliability of grades given by students.The
good thing is that the advantages outweigh the disadvantages. The first
lesson in the 4th grading is about Writing a Close Analysis and
CriticalInterpretation of Literary Texts Applying a Reading Approach this
lesson aims to Analyza and to critically interpret Literary Texts applying
a ReadingApproach and doing an adaptationof texts to identify
representative texts and authors from Asia and Africa . This lesson made
me realized the importance of using different reading approaches that is
applicabe in every literary works that I am reading. Reading approaches
helps me to grasp information easily and to squeeze details that I can use
to formulate interpretation of a deeper meaning in the text. The different
reading approaches are Skiming, scanning, extensive reading and
intensive reading. I use skimming when I want to read news to quickly
gather informations. When I review I use Scanning and extensive reading
when I’m reading Wattpad and Intensive reading when I am taking an
opinionated exam that is important to understand eac word, number or
fact.

Studying literature needs a deep crtitcal thinking. For me this subject is


not easy. I have so many fails on this subject but studying literature is
quite fun. From this subject, it exposed me to different lives of people
through their experiences and stories where I learned lessons and values.
It’s like a time machine where it takes me to different period of times.I
also discovered amazing authors and literary works that needs to be
treasured.
