    On July 9, 2022 residents of Calatagan, Batangas participated in a community clean-up drive along barangay roads and the coastal area near Calumbuyan Point, Barangay Sta. Ana, Calatagan. The clean-up was organized by Miss Philippines Earth-Calatagan Batangas and involved removing litter from streets and the coastline, cutting tall grasses, and clearing muds and soil from gutters and canals. The clean-up started at 7:30am and ended at 11:00am with participation from Grade 7 students of Lucsuhin National High School who helped contribute to improving and protecting the local community and environment.

    NARRATIVE REPORT ON THE CONDUCT OF THE CLEAN-UP DRIVE


    SPONSORED BY MISS PHILIPPINES EARTH-CALATAGAN BATANGAS
    On Saturday July 9, 2022, residents of Calatagan conducted a community service along the barangay roads and
    coastal area near the Calumbuyan Point, Barangay Sta. Ana, Calatagan, Batangas. The activity was initiated by its
    project proponentAlcantara, Romblon. Grade 7 comprises of two sections, namely Rizal and Mabini with a total
    number of 78 students.
    The cleanup started at exactly 7:30 in the morning and ended at 11:00 with the utmost participation of the class
    willing to contribute progress and change in the community. The activity is in line with the lesson “Ang Likas na
    Yaman ng Asya” wherein the proponent would like to instill the importance of community as part of the natural
    resources and the proper way of taking care of the environment.

    Cleanup activity includes sweeping the streets, cut tall grasses, picking up litters and waste near the streets and
    coastline. Participating students also remove muds and soil piled in the gutter and road canals where it obstructs the
    water ways that causes flood.
