Michael Holbrook Penniman, Jr.

was born in Beirut, the third of five children born to a Lebanese mother and an American father. He is best known for his unusually large vocal range, and high falsetto. When he was a year old his family was forced to leave war-torn Lebanon and moved to Paris. He went to primary school there, but was pulled out due to severe bullying. He then moved to England to go to St Philips School, where he was head of the School Choir. He then went on to the Royal College of Music in London where he was given vocal training by a Russian professional opera singer named Alla Ardakov. His dbut album, Life in Cartoon Motion, was released in 2007. It contained his biggest hit so far, Grace Kelly, along with others, such as Love Today, Big Girl(You Are Beautiful) and Happy Ending. It then went on to become the fifthbest selling album of that year. He released his second album The Boy Who Knew Too Much in 2009. This is his most recent album. The songs We Are Golden, Rain and Blame It On The Girls were released on this album. His third album is currently being recorded, and is set to be released in late 2011. He performed at the Glastonbury Festival in 2007
