Butter Cake Recipe:

Ingredients: These quantities make one standard cake. * 125grams of softened butter * 2/3 cup of caster sugar * 2 eggs (lightly beaten) * 1 tsp Vanilla Essence * 2 cups SR Flour * 2/3 cup milk Method: * Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy * Add eggs and Vanilla Essence (Beat until well mixed) * Add small amounts of flour and milk until well mixed in together. * Place into a lined and greased tin and cook for 45mins in an oven pre-heated to 180C. * Test with a skewer to ensure that it is cooked. you can try this cake with Chocolate variations:

Chocolate cake:
To turn this recipe into a chocolate cake add 2tbs of cocoa and 2tbs of milk to the mixture and beat through.

Black Forest Cake:


Ingredients: 2 eggs 250g butter 1/4 cup kirsch 1/4 cup cocoa 1 cup plain flour 2 cups castor sugar 1 1/2 cups hot water 2 tsp vanilla essence 1 Tbs dry instant coffee 1 1/2 cups self raising flour 2 x 425 can cherries, drained 200g dark chocolate, chopped 2 x 300ml cartons thickened cream

Black Forest Cake Method of Preparation: The fisrt thing you must do is get the cake pan ready so grease a deep 23 cm round cake pan, line base and sides with greased paper. In a saucepan melt the butter and stir in combined hot water and coffee, then chocolate and sugar and stir over low heat without boiling till smooth and then transfer to large bowl and cool to warm. Beat mixture on low speed with electric beater, gradually beat in sifted dry ingredients in 3 lots. Beat in eggs one at a time, then essence. Pour into prepared pan and bake in a slow oven for about 1 3/4 hours and then let it stand for 5 minutes before turning onto wire rack to cool. Beat cream until peaks form. Trim the top of the cake to make the top flat. Split the cake into 3 even layers. Place one layer onto serving plate, brush with 1/3 of the kirsch, top with a layer of cream and half the halved cherries. Repeat layering twice more and then brush the top of the cake with remaining kirsch. Cover cake with remaining cream and then decorate the Black Forest Cake with cherries and chocolate curls.

Vanilla Cupcake
Vanilla Cupcake Recipe: Ingredients: 2 cups all purpose flour 1 1/2 cups sugar 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 4 egg whites from large eggs 1/2 cup shortening 1 cup 2% milk 2 large eggs 1 1/2 teaspoon vanilla Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cupcake pans with paper liners. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, shortening, milk and vanilla in a large mixing bowl. Mix at low speed for 2 minutes. Scrape bowl. Add egg whites and mix at high speed until fluffy and smooth, approximately 2 minutes. Fill liners 1/2 to 2/3 full of batter. Do not overfill. Bake 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 10 minutes in pans then remove from pan, and place on wire racks to cool completely. Frost and decorate your vanilla cupcakes as desired.

Cupcake Recipe
Cupcake Recipe: Ingredients: 2 1/4 cups all purpose flour 1 1/3 cups sugar 3 teaspoons baking powder 1/2 teaspoon salt 1/2 cup shortening 1 cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla 2 large eggs Directions: Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Line cupcake pans with paper liners. Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large mixing bowl. Add shortening, milk, and vanilla. Beat for 1 minute on medium speed. Scrape side of bowl with a spatula. Add eggs to the mixture. Beat for 1 minute on medium speed. Scrape bowl again. Beat on high speed for 1 minute 30 seconds until well mixed. Spoon cupcake batter into paper liners until 1/2 to 2/3 full. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Cool 5 minutes in pans then remove and place on wire racks to cool completely. Once cupcakes are completely cooled, frost with your favorite frosting recipe or decorate as you desire.

Delicious Chocolate Cake


Chocolate Cake : Ingredients: * 1 (18.25 ounce) package devil's food cake mix * 1 (5.9 ounce) package instant chocolate pudding mix * 1 cup sour cream * 1 cup vegetable oil * 4 eggs * 1/2 cup warm water * 2 cups semisweet chocolate chips * add to recipe box Add to Recipe Box My folders: * add to shopping list Add to Shopping List * add a personal note Add a Personal Note Preparation Method: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). 2. In a large bowl, mix together the cake and pudding mixes, sour cream, oil, beaten eggs and water. Stir in the chocolate chips and pour batter into a well greased 12 cup bundt pan. 3. Bake for 50 to 55 minutes, or until top is springy to the touch and a wooden toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool cake thoroughly in pan at least an hour and a half before inverting onto a plate If desired, dust the cake with powdered sugar.

Tasty Carrot Cake


Carrot Cake: Ingredients: * 4 eggs * 1 1/4 cups vegetable oil * 2 cups white sugar * 2 teaspoons vanilla extract * 2 cups all-purpose flour * 2 teaspoons baking soda * 2 teaspoons baking powder * 1/2 teaspoon salt * 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon * 3 cups grated carrots * 1 cup chopped pecans * 1/2 cup butter, softened * 8 ounces cream cheese, softened * 4 cups confectioners' sugar * 1 teaspoon vanilla extract * 1 cup chopped pecans * add to recipe box Add to Recipe Box Preparation Method: 1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 9x13 inch pan. 2. In a large bowl, beat together eggs, oil, white sugar and 2 teaspoons vanilla. Mix in flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon. Stir in carrots. Fold in pecans. Pour into prepared pan. 3. Bake in the preheated oven for 40 to 50 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean. Let cool in pan for 10 minutes, then turn out onto a wire rack and cool completely. 4. To Make Frosting: In a medium bowl, combine butter, cream cheese, confectioners' sugar and 1 teaspoon vanilla. Beat until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Stir in chopped pecans. Frost the cooled cake.

Chocolate Cake
2 cup flour 2 cup sugar 1 cup water 1 stick of butter 1/2 cup oil 3 Tbsp. Cocoa 2 eggs 1 teas. baking soda 1 cup buttermilk 1 tsp. vanilla Mix flour and sugar in large mixing bowl. In small saucepan stir together water, butter, oil and cocoa. Bring to boil. Add to flour mixture and beat with mixer until well blended. Dissolve soda in buttermilk and add beating well. Add eggs one at a time and mix in well. Add vanilla Bake in 350 degree oven for 25 - 30minutes or until pick inserted is clean.
