Objectives must be met over the week and connected to the curriculum standard. To meet the objectives,
necessary procedure must be followed and if needed, additional lesson exercises and remedial activities may
be done for the developing content knowledge and competencies. These are assessed during Formative
I. OBJECTIVES Assessment strategies. Valuing objectives support the learning of the content and competencies and enable
children to find significance and joy in learning the lessons. Weekly objectives shall be derived from the
curriculum guide.

The learners will describe the different ecological

relationships found in an ecosystem.
B. Performance Standards
C. Learning Competencies Describe the different ecological relationships found in an
(Write the LC Codes for Each) ecosystem. S7LT-IIh-10
At the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
D. Objectives describe the different ecological relationships found in
an ecosystem.
Content is what the lesson is all about. It pertains to the subject matter that the teacher aims to teach in the
CG, the content can be tackled in a week or two.

II. CONTENT Different Ecological Relationships found in an ecosystem

IV. LEARNING List the materials to be used in different days. Varied materials sustain children’s interest in the lesson and in
learning. Ensure that there is a mix of concrete and manipulative materials as well as paper-based materials.
RESOURCES Hands-on learning promotes concept development.

These steps should be done across the week. Spread out the activities appropriately so that the students will
learn well. Always be guided by demonstration of learning by the students which you can infer from formative
V. PROCEDURE assessment activities. Sustain learning systematically by providing students with multiple ways to learn new
things, practice their learning, question their learning processes, and draw conclusion about what they
learned in relation to their life experiences and previous knowledge. Indicate the time allotment for each step.
A. Reviewing previous lesson or Activity: Q and A (3 minutes)
presenting the new lesson
ELICIT
 The teacher will ask questions to the learners about the
previous discussion.

Activity: A tour in an Ecosystem (5 minutes)

The teacher will show video clips to the students about the different

C. Presenting examples/instances  The students will answer these questions: (Constructivism
of the new lesson approach)
ENGAGE
1.What does carnivorous plant did to the fly?
2.What does the role of the butterfly in the second clip?
3.What does the effect of the tick sucking blood from its host?
4.What do you think is our topic for today?
Activity: Mystery Unlocked (15 minutes)

 The teacher will group the students into two (2).

 The teacher will give them a puzzle to be solve and answer the
following questions and present it to the class.
 The students should complete the picture and look for the
hidden word.
Group 1 (Constructivism approach)
1. What is the role of the lion in the picture? The role of the deer?
2. How the lion seek s food?
3. What is the role of the tick in the picture? The role of the dog?
4. How does the tick affects the dog?

EXPLORE

Group 2 (Constructivism approach)

1. What does the butterfly do after sucking the flower’s nectar?
2. Does the butterfly harms the flower?
3. How can you describe the relationship of orchids and the tree?
4. Does the orchids harm the tree?

EXPLAIN
 The teacher will show a video clip that describes the different
ecological relationship in an ecosystem.
 The teacher will call students to share their ideas to the class.
 The teacher will further discuss the topic.

THE DIFFERENT ECOLOGICAL RELATIONSHIPS FOUND IN

AN ECOSYSTEM

Predation

- it is when one organism eats another organism for food. The

organism that is eaten is called the prey. The organism that
haunts the prey is called predator.

Competition

- is when individuals or populations compete for the same

resource, and can occur within or between species.

Commensalism

- is a relationship between individuals of two species in

which one species obtains food or other benefits from other
without either harming.

Parasitism

- is a relationship between two species of plants or animals in

which one benefits at the expense of the other, sometimes
without killing the host. The organism that benefits is called
parasite, and the one that is harmed is the host.

Mutualism

- is a relationship in which both species benefit.

Activity: (15 minutes)
“Action speaks louder than Words”

 The students will group themselves into 4 members each group.

(Existentialism approach)
 Each group will give 5 examples of animals or situation that shows
an ecological relationship found in an ecosystem. (Constructivism
approach)
G. Finding practical applications to  Each group will have a representative that will answer the
concepts and skills in daily questions.
living  The group with highest score is the winner.

H. Making generalization and

abstraction Generalization:
ELABORATE
 What ecological relationship use hunting for survival?
(Essentialism approach)
 How does mutualism and commensalism differ from each other?
(Essentialism approach)
 Why do you think is the importance of learning the different
ecological relationships found in the ecosystem? (Constructivism
approach)

VI. REMARKS
Reflect on your teaching and assess yourself as a teacher. Think about your students’ progress this week.
VII. REFLECTION What works? What else needs to be done to help the students learn? Identify what help your instructional
supervisor can provide for you so when you meet them, you can ask them relevant questions.
A. No. of the learners earned 80% in the
evaluation
B. No. of learners who required additional
activities for remediation who scored
below 80%
C. Did the remedial lesson work? Number of
learners who have caught up with the
