Okay good!
A. Reviewing previous lesson or presenting the new lesson
Indicator 2. Used a range of teaching strategies that enhance learner achievement in literacy and
numeracy skills.

Fourth Question
Fifth Question
Let us give a Winner Clap to the winning Group. 1,2,3 (2) Winner!!!!
Ready?
B. Establishing a purpose for the lesson
Indicator 4. Managed classroom structure to engage learners, individually or in groups, in meaningful
explanation, discovery and hands-on activities within a range of physical learning environments.
(The class will be divided into 4 groups, each group
will receive sets of pictures.)

Very good all your ideas are correct. 1,2,3 (2x) Very good Very good very good!
Let us give each other an “Aling Dionisia Clap”
ANALYSIS
Why do you think that nails get rust? Nails get rust because they are being exposed to oxygen.
Do you ever wonder how the digestion of food takes Yes ma’am.
place?
Any idea class? As we put our food in our mouth, there is an enzyme in our
saliva that breaks down sugars and other carbohydrates into
simpler forms that our body can absorb.
Very well said.
All of the pictures I’ve shown are associated with
our topic for today which is the Types of Chemical
Reaction.
D. Discussing new concepts and practicing new skills #1
Indicator 1. Applied knowledge of content within and across curriculum teaching areas.
Types of Chemical Reaction
(The teacher will use PowerPoint presentation
as an Instructional Material to discuss the topic.)
1. Synthesis reactions
Synthesis reactions occur when two substances
(generally elements) combine and form a
2. Decomposition Reactions
Decomposition reactions occur when a compound
breaks up into the elements or in a few to simpler
compounds
Examples:
2 H2 O 2H2 + O2
AB A + B
Let try another example:
What will be the product of Mercury Oxygen if it is
decomposed?
2HgO __2Hg + O2
AB A + B
Another view of a decomposition reaction:
• Another view:
AB + CD AD + CB
Examples:
NaCl (aq) + AgNO3 (aq) NaNO3 (aq) + AgCl (s)
A B + C D A D + C B
