Introduction

This SBA entails an inter-form five aside football competition that was held at Parade Ground. The
purpose of this SBA was to choose the team that scored the most goals. The competition was
controlled by the form 5 Physical Education students.
History of the Sport

The game soccer also known as football in the Caribbean originated in Britain in the 18 th century
before medieval times football games had been played in towns and villages with a number of
rules.1871 was a year that the Rugby football union was formed. The word soccer also entered
parlance at the same time was the shortened form of the word association and was used to describe
clubs that had decided to play by association rules. In the year 1877 a cohesive set of rules for
football were finally agreed upon. Together they became the laws of the game and have been in place
ever since.
Description of How the Game is Played

The aim of football is to score more goals than your opponent in 90-minuites playing frame. The
match is split up into two halves of 45-minuites. Each team consists of 11 players (one goal keeper
and the outfield players).

Laws in details

i. Throw in

A throw in is given after the ball has left the field of play. The opponents of the player who last
touched the ball receive a throw in.

i. The ball

The standard diameter of a size five ball must be around 22cm and a circumference of 68.70cm. The
soccer ball must weigh between 410-450 kg.

ii. Duration
The game time In a football match is 90 minutes long.
