CHAPTER 1: EASY PUFF PASTRY RECIPES
ALMOND AND CHEESE PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
1/2 (17.5 oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 (8 oz) wheel Brie cheese
1/4 C. sliced almonds

Directions
Set your oven at 350 degrees F before doing anything else.
Put puff pastry on the baking dish and place one half of
horizontally sliced brie over it before spreading almonds and
placing other half of brie on top.
Cover it up with pastry dough.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes.
Cool it down.
Serve.

EASY PASTRY

Ingredients
1 egg, beaten
2 tbsps water
4 sheets frozen puff pastry

Directions
Set your oven at 350 degrees F before doing anything else.
Cut 8 three inch circles from puff pastry and cut through four of
them using a 2.5 inch round cutter.
Now place the cut circle over the uncut circle and brush each one
with a mixture of egg and water.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes.
Cool it down.
Serve.

SPINACH AND PESTO PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
2 (12 oz) skinless, boneless salmon fillets
seasoned salt to taste
1/2 tsp garlic powder
1 tsp onion powder
1 (17.25 oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
1/3 C. pesto
1 (6 oz) package spinach leaves

Directions
Set your oven at 375 degrees F before doing anything else.
Coat salmon with a mixture of salt, onion powder and garlic
powder before setting it aside.
Now place ½ of your spinach between two separate puff pastry
sheets, while putting more in the center and place salmon fillet
over each one in the center before placing pesto and remaining
spinach.
Moisten up the edges with water and fold it.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes.
Cool it down.
Serve.

VINEYARD PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
2 eggs
2/3 C. all-purpose flour
1/2 C. white wine
2/3 C. milk
1/2 tsp salt
1 green onion, chopped
3/4 C. shredded Swiss cheese
1 tbsp butter, melted
2 tbsps grated Parmesan cheese

Directions
Set your oven at 425 degrees F before doing anything else.
Pour a mixture of flour, wine, milk, salt, green onion, Swiss
cheese, beaten eggs and butter in the baking dish before
sprinkling some parmesan cheese.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes or until
golden brown.
Cool it down.
Serve.

A CREAM FOR PUFF PASTRIES

Ingredients
2 C. milk
1/4 C. white sugar
2 egg yolks
1 egg
1/4 C. cornstarch
1/3 C. white sugar
2 tbsps butter
1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions
Bring a mixture of milk and sugar to boil over medium heat
before adding it slowly into a mixture of eggs, egg yolks, sugar
and cornstarch.
Heat up this new mixture and bring it to boil, while stirring
constantly.
Turn off the heat before adding butter and vanilla into the pan.
Pour this into a heat proof container before refrigerating it for a
few hours.
Serve.

NUTELLA PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
1 (17.25 oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
11 tbsps chocolate hazelnut spread
1/2 C. chopped hazelnuts (optional)
6 tsps powdered sugar

Directions
Set your oven at 425 degrees F before doing anything else.
Spread chocolate hazelnut spread over flattened puff pastry
before toping it with hazelnuts.
Fold it up into a rectangle shape before cutting it into half inch
slices.
Put this on a baking dish and sprinkle some powdered sugar.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until
golden brown.
Cool it down.
Serve.

LEBANESE INSPIRED PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
3 tbsps mashed garlic
1 egg yolk
2 C. chopped fresh spinach
2 boneless skinless chicken breast halves
2 tbsps basil pesto
1/3 C. chopped sun-dried tomatoes
1/4 C. crumbled herbed feta cheese
1 frozen puff pastry sheet, thawed, cut in half

Directions
Set your oven at 375 degrees F before doing anything else.
Coat chicken breasts with a mixture of mashed garlic and egg
yolk in a glass dish before covering it up with a plastic wrap and
refrigerating these chicken breasts for at least four hours.
Put ½ of the spinach in the center of half of a pastry and then
place one piece of chicken breast over it before adding 1 table
spoon pesto, sun-dried tomatoes, feta cheese and then the
remaining spinach.
Wrap it up with the other half of the pastry.
Repeat the same steps for the remaining breast pieces.
Place all these on a baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 40 minutes or until the
chicken is tender.
Serve.

A PUFF PASTRY OF HERBS AND SALAMI

Ingredients
3/4 tsp chopped fresh parsley
1 clove garlic, minced
1 tsp dried rosemary
1 tsp dried thyme
1 tsp dried marjoram
2 oz thinly sliced salami, chopped
1 (2.2 lb) wheel Brie cheese
1 sheet frozen puff pastry, thawed
water
1 egg, beaten

Directions
Set your oven at 350 degrees F before doing anything else.
Spread a mixture of parsley, marjoram, garlic, rosemary, thyme
and salami over one half of vertically sliced brie before placing
the other half on top.
Now place this in the center of a puff pastry and fold it up before
brushing the pastry with beaten eggs.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes or until
golden brown.
Cool it down a little.
Serve.

PURE ALMOND PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
1/3 C. superfine sugar
1/4 C. unsalted butter, softened
2 large egg yolks
1/4 tsp almond extract
1 C. ground almonds
1 tbsp all-purpose flour
1 sheet puff pastry, thawed and rolled out into a 16x16-inch
square
1 egg
1 tbsp water
2 tbsps sliced almonds, or to taste
2 tbsps superfine sugar, or to taste

Directions
Set your oven at 400 degrees F before doing anything else.
Add eggs and almond extract to a finely beaten mixture of
superfine sugar and butter before adding ground almonds and
flour.
Cut puff pastry into 8 pieces and place almond mixture in the
center of each before wrapping it up and making three cuts on the
bottom edge of the pastry.
Now place this in a baking dish before brushing pastries with a
mixture of water and egg.
Sprinkle with some superfine sugar and sliced almonds.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until
golden brown.
Cool it down a little.
Serve.

ROASTED GARLIC AND PARMESAN PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
1 tbsp olive oil
1 shallot, minced
1 lb assorted wild mushrooms, sliced
2 cloves roasted garlic, minced
1 C. grated Parmesan cheese
1 bunch fresh thyme, leaves stripped and chopped
salt and black pepper to taste
1/2 C. heavy cream
1 (17.25 oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed

Directions
Set your oven at 350 degrees F before doing anything else.
Cook shallot in hot olive oil for about 5 minutes over medium
heat before adding mushrooms and cooking all this for another 15
minutes.
Now add roasted garlic, salt, Parmesan cheese, pepper, cream and
thyme before turning the heat off and letting it cool down.
Cut three inch squares from flattened out puff pastry and place
mushrooms filling in the center of each before folding it up, while
pressing the edges with a fork to seal.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 16 minutes or until
golden brown.
Serve.

ITALIAN PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
1 (17.25 oz) package frozen puff pastry sheets, thawed
2 tbsps extra virgin olive oil
3 green onion, thinly sliced
1 tbsp minced onion
1 clove garlic, minced
6 sun-dried tomatoes, chopped
2 tsps dried rosemary
2 C. shredded mozzarella cheese
1/4 C. crumbled Gorgonzola cheese

Directions
Set your oven at 300 degrees F before doing anything else.
Bake two sheets of puff pastry that are pinched together for 15
minutes.
Cook green onion, tomatoes, rosemary, onion and garlic in hot oil
for about 5 minutes.
Place mozzarella cheese, gorgonzola cheese and this mixture on
the baked puff pastry before putting it back in the oven.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 10 minutes or until
cheese has melted.
Cut two inch squares for the purpose of serving.

APPLE, CINNAMON, AND CREAM CHEESE PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
1/3 C. white sugar
1 egg
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, room temperature
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
1/4 C. white sugar
3 Granny Smith apples - peeled, cored and chopped
2 (10 oz) cans refrigerated crescent roll dough
1 tbsp butter, melted

Directions
Set your oven at 350 degrees F before doing anything else.
Coat apples with a mixture of ¼ C. sugar and cinnamon before
setting it aside.
In another bowl, combine cream cheese, egg and sugar before
adding vanilla.
Flatten out crescent roll dough and pinch the pieces together
before placing apples in the center and pouring cream cheese
filling over these apples.
Fold dough around this filling.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 35 minutes or until
golden brown.
Brush with butter while it is still hot and sprinkle some cinnamon
sugar for garnishing purposes.
Serve.

CHICKEN AND MUSHROOM PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
1 (17.5 oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed
1 lb ground chicken
1/4 C. water
1 small onion, shredded
2 eggs
1/2 C. dry bread crumbs
salt to taste
ground black pepper to taste
1 tbsp vegetable oil
2 tbsps butter
2 tbsps all-purpose flour
1 tbsp soy sauce
1/2 packet dry onion soup mix
1 (8 oz) can mushrooms, drained
1 C. water
2 tbsps white wine

Directions
Set your oven at 425 degrees F before doing anything else.
Combine ground chicken, eggs, 1/4 C. water, bread crumbs,
grated onion and salt and pepper very thorough before cooking it
in hot oil until you see that the chicken is brown.
Place this mixture along the length of rolled out puff pastry and
fold the puff pastry around this mixture.
Place on a baking dish.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until golden
brown.
Add flour, soy sauce, water, white wine and onion soup mix in
melted butter in a small pot before adding mushrooms and
pouring this mixture over the meat roll.
Serve.

MAGGIE’S FAVORITE PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
1 green chile pepper, chopped
1 clove garlic, chopped
freshly ground black pepper to taste
1 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 (14.5 oz) can minced tomatoes, drained
1 (4 oz) package feta cheese, crumbled
1/2 (17.5 oz) package frozen puff pastry (1 sheet), thawed

Directions
Set your oven at 400 degrees F before doing anything else.
Combine onion, peppers, ground pepper, olive oil and garlic in a
baking dish before baking it for 10 minutes.
Now add tomatoes and feta cheese over the cooked vegetables
before rolling it up with puff pastry.
Bake in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until golden
brown.
Use a utensil to flip it so that you get a puff pastry base with
vegetables on top.
Serve.

CHICKEN AND CHIVES PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
1 tbsp vegetable oil
salt and pepper to taste
4 (4 oz) skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese with chives
4 puff pastry shells

Directions
Set your oven at 400 degrees F before doing anything else.
Cook chicken breast seasoned with salt and pepper in hot oil for
about 5 minutes or until brown before placing it on a rolled out
puff pastry.
Spread cream cheese over the chicken and fold the pastry around
the chicken breast, while sealing the edges very tightly.
Do the same with remaining ingredients.
Place all these on a baking dish
Bake in a preheated oven for about 15 minutes or until golden
brown.
Serve.

JALAPENO, MONTEREY PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
1 C. shredded Monterey Jack cheese
1 (4 oz) can minced jalapeno peppers
2 cloves garlic, pressed
3 green onions, minced
1 (16 oz) package wonton wrappers
1 quart vegetable oil for frying

Directions
Fill wonton wrapper with a mixture of cream cheese, garlic,
Monterey Jack cheese, jalapeno peppers and green onions before
folding it up to form triangle like shapes.
Fry four of these wontons at a time in hot oil until golden brown.

CHOCOLATE, VANILLA, ALMOND, CHEESE PUFF PASTRY

Ingredients
1/2 C. margarine
1 C. water
1 C. all-purpose flour
4 eggs
1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, at room temperature
3 C. milk
2 (3 oz) packages instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (16 oz) package frozen whipped topping, thawed
1/4 C. chocolate syrup
1 C. sliced almonds

Directions
Set your oven at 400 degrees F before doing anything else.
Bring a mixture of water and margarine to boil before adding
flour and beaten eggs (one at a time).
Pour this mixture in a baking dish.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes or until
golden brown.
Add milk and pudding mix in cream cheese, and beat thoroughly
before pouring it over the cream puff.
Now top this with chocolate syrup, whipped topping and
almonds.
Refrigerate for at least 24 hours before serving.
Enjoy.

EASY PUFF PASTRY II

Ingredients
1/2 C. shortening
1/8 tsp salt
1 C. boiling water
1 C. sifted all-purpose flour
4 eggs

Directions
Set your oven at 400 degrees F before doing anything else.
Bring a mixture of shortening, water and salt to boil before
turning the heat down and adding flour.
Mix continuously before adding eggs (one at a time) and beat
vigorously with the help of a spoon until the mixture is thick.
Transfer this to a baking dish.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes and another

EASY PUFF PASTRY OF OLIVES

Ingredients
24 pimento-stuffed green olives
1 (17.25 oz) package frozen puff pastry, thawed

Directions
Set your oven at 400 degrees F before doing anything else.
Slice puff pastry into 6 inch long strips that have a half inch width
before wrapping olives around these strips.
Bake this in the preheated oven for about 20 minutes or until you
see that it is golden brown.
Serve.
