School Counselor
COLLINSVILLE HIGH SCHOOL 2019-PRESENT

Provide individual and small-group counseling sessions and large-group counseling presentations within
classroom and counseling office environments for a school with 2000 students. Participate in parent/teacher
meetings to discuss and develop emotional and behavioral strategies for students with physical, mental, and
emotional challenges.
Created and introduced a virtual calming room that is used district wide to share mental health resources and
calming strategies with a diverse population that received national attention from other schools and the
College Board.
Overhauled and managed counseling website. Developed a more student-centered scholarship page that
highlighted both local and national scholarships.
Developed a monthly newsletter for the counseling department to better communicate with students and
families.
Counseled students individually and in groups on a diverse range of topics from social emotional to academic.
Topics included but not limited to: anxiety, grief, depression, organization, and college planning.
Preliminarily determined whether students required additional assistance for special needs or disabilities;
made referrals to psychiatric professionals as needed
Co-led on a variety of department projects such as: college onsite day, academic signing day, freshmen
orientation, FAFSA completion nights, and college planning nights.
Organized and administered standardized testing such as the SAT, PSAT, and AP testing.
Collaborated with staff on a variety of teams to better provide more student centered services.
