    Main Characters: Rudolf Rassendyll, Princess Flavia, Colonel Sapt, Black Michael, Antoinette de

    Setting: Ruritania (capital city of Ruritania), Zenda (Castle of Zenda) and Strelsau

    Introduction: Rudolf Rassendyll was the descendent of Rudolph Elphberg, King Rudolf III of Ruritania
    and Lady Amelia. He came from a wealthy family. Due to his background, he felt that he did not need to
    work. His sister-in-law, Rose, kept insisting him to do something with his life. Rudolf promised his sister-
    in-law that if he was still free in six months, he then would look for a job. He felt that he had freedom for
    six months, and decided to go to visit Ruritania since he had never been there. He wanted to visit the
    new King of Ruritania coronation’s ceremony. He then started his journey there.

    Point of view: First person because on page 11 he said “But now I’m writing my own story”.

    Conflict: A problem he had to face is that the king was poisoned and Rudolf Rassendyll was convinced to
    be the “king”. Another challenge is that Rudolf Rassendyll has to follow his duty as king but at the same
    time he wanted to follow his heart because he was in love with Princess Flavia.

    Rising Action: Rassendyll, Sapt, Fritz made the first attempt to save the king and they had to kill a man
    on a boat to save the king but they failed.

    Climax: On the second attempt Rassendyll, Sapt, and Fritz went quietly to Zenda to save the King. They
    also had to fight The Duke and his Famous Six. The Duke was killed by Rupert of Hentzau, one of his
    Famous Six.

    Falling Action: Rassendyll tried to chase Rupert and kill him but Rupert managed to escape from
    Rassendyll. At the end they were able to save the king

    Resolution: The king was saved and Princess Flavia found out about the truth about the king and Rudolf
    Rassendyll. Princess Flavia couldn’t go with Rassendyll to England because she had a duty to her country
    and her people in Ruritania.

    Different Own Ending: Rupert was finally killed by Rudolf Rassendyll. The real king was saved but he was
    terminally ill and badly injured. Therefore, his body couldn’t handle all the pain and he died. So, the
    public still hasn’t been told about the king’s death. So Sapt and Fritz decided to make Rudolf Rassendyll
    the king. They decided not to tell the public about Rassendyll is the new king.

    At first Rassendyll was reluctant. Then Sapt and Fritz mentioned he could marry Princess Flavia and they
    could be the new king and queen. He liked the idea and decided to be the new king. He now has became
    the new king and thanked all his friends and people who helped him along on his journey. To repay
    them he held a feast. They all lived happily for the rest of their life.

    Personal Response: I personally like the novel because of how the author managed to put the words
    together. The words are very simple yet can make the reader intrigued. I overall enjoyed reading this
    novel. I would definitely recommend this novel to other people, why you may ask. For the people who
    are interested in adventure, action, romance and a bit of humor. If you have free time or just want to
    read a novel. This is for you.
