THE INFORMATION BELOW IS CONFIDENTIAL - FOR USE BY AUTHORIZED PERSONNEL ONLY
On 01-30-2023, I responded to 664 Rawl Rd. In the Lexington area which is located in Lexington County for a
suspicious circumstance.
Upon Arrival, I spoke with Assistant Principal Kate Berresford at Pleasant Hill Elementary School who stated that
the head Custodian Chris Webb recovered some glass which smelt like gasoline in the parking lot. Kate then pulled
up the cameras and noticed that on January 29, 2023 around 8:30pm three white unknown individuals arrived in the
parking lot in a white ford focus (looks like a later model between 2000-2007 models) with tinted windows. Kate
then stated that three unknown males walked up to the back side entrance of the school. Kate stated that in the video
you can see the males grab the trash barrel and relocate it to the side of the building. Kate then stated that she saw a
male climb on the trash barrels and lift himself onto the roof. The other two unknown males walked to the side of the
school where the dumpsters are. In the video you see a glass object coming over in the air and land on the pavement
and make a big explosion. The three individuals then come from around the building and see the explosion. The
unknown males then kick the glass bottle into a puddle that is nearby to extinguish the flame. About a few minutes
later the three individuals throw another glass bottle into the parking lot and another explosion occurred. Shortly
after you can see the three men kick the glass bottle into the same puddle that they kicked the first glass into. The
three males once extinguished the flames, took off running in the parking lot and got into the white vehicle and took
off. The video showed the vehicle taking off around 8:50 pm. I believe these devices that they used is called a
Molotov cocktail.
I took pictures on my county issued phone of the incident and submitted them to evidence.
I took possession of the glass pieces that was found in the parking lot this morning and they will be submitted to
evidence.
I called and advised Major Crimes of the incident.
I advised Sargeant Lovell of the incident.
District will be providing video surveillance of the incident.
