cell?
 How will you describe the journey of the sperm cell and egg cell
until fertilization successfully happens?
 Why is it stated in the video that “fertilization is a story of all of
us?

The teacher will discuss the following:

 Fertilization is the union of sperm cell and egg cell. A human

develops from an egg that has been fertilized by the sperm.
 Important event in the process of fertilization:
o After being discharged from the ovary, the egg cell begins
to travel through the fallopian tube to the uterus.
o If a sperm cell is present in the fallopian tube, it will try to
penetrate the egg cell.
o If the sperm succeeds, it sheds its tail. Fertilization has
taken place. The egg cell can no longer be penetrated by
any other sperm cell.
o The fertilized egg called zygote continues to move towards
the uterus.
o It is here where the zygote implants itself and continues
its development into a full term fetus.
