1. Planning Information

A. Effectivity
PT6A-42A (BS1011) Engines.

B. Concurrent Requirements

All service bulletins with a compliance code of 1 to 6 must be incorporated in conjunction

with or prior to the conversion of a PT6A-42A (BS1011) to a PT6A-42A (BS1284).

P&WC SB 3409, 3412, 3435, 3452, 3466, 3491, 3492 and 3494 must be incorporated in
conjunction with this service bulletin.

C. Reason

(1) Problem

There is a customer requirement to convert PT6A-42A build specification BS1011

engines to BS1284 configuration.

(2) Cause

No documentation exists to allow the engine conversion.

(3) Solution

This service bulletin provides the minimum hardware requirements to convert a

PT6A-42A (BS1011) to a PT6A-42A (BS1284).

PT6A-42A build specification BS1011 conversion to BS1284 configuration.

E. Compliance

CATEGORY 8 - This service bulletin is optional and can be done at the discretion of the
operator.

F. Approval

The technical content of this document is approved under the authority of the Transport
Canada Civil Aviation (TCCA) Design Approval Organization No: DAO #93-Q-01.
