 The Terramite Corporation came about as
a result of long experience with the construc-
tion industry by its president, Mr. K. G.
Cunningham. Many years ago, he conceived
the idea of building a mini backhoe to elimi-
nate the hand labor on construction jobs.
Using the 7.6 Gravely Tractor as the power
plant, he designed and patented a backhoe
that would dig to 6 feet deep. Mr. Cunning-
ham operated Perkins Diesel Engine Sales at
that time and later incorporated as Diesel
Sales and Service. After a few years of manu-
