    Activity: School Nurse Interview

    Activity Description: School Nursing is a specialized practice of professional nursing


    that advances the well-being, academic success, and life-long achievement of students. A
    group of students at the level II Nursing Program will take part in a virtual live interview
    with a Public-School Nurse to learn more about the role of a school nurse and put their
    newly acquired skills into practice.

    Participants: Nursing Students

    Date and Time: May 11, 2022 – 9:00 to 11:30 AM

    Venue: Zoom Platform

    Time Frame: 2 Hours

    General objectives:

    Within 2 hours of School Nurse Interview, the nursing students will be able to:

    1. Participate actively in the program by paying close attention to what the speaker
    has to say.
    2. Develop expertise in a new field of Community Health Nursing, namely, School
    Health Nursing.
    3. Demonstrate positive interest and show enthusiasm throughout the program.

    Specific Objectives

    Within 2 hours of School Nurse Interview, the nursing students will be able to:

    1. Define the role of a School Health Nurse.


    2. Explain the importance of School Health Nurses in a school environment.
    3. Recognize the difficulties that School Nurses are dealing with nowadays.
    4. Enumerate various approaches a school nurse uses in the delivery of patient care
    to students.
    5. Differentiate the role of a School Nurse from other fields of nursing.
    6. Develop an understanding of the School Nurse's point of view on current health
    issues facing society today.
