INTRODUCTION

The repercussions of a lack of sleep on our mental health are the subject of this study. I
chose it because it piqued my interest. I also chose it because I'm curious what really
happens on our mental health if we are lack in sleep. Poor or insufficient sleep can
cause irritability and stress, whereas healthy sleep can improve well- being. Chronic
insomnia may increase the risk of developing a mood disorder such as anxiety or
depression. There are many treatments that can help if you sleep poorly and feel
depressed, anxious, or less emotionally responsive. First, examine your sleeping habits
and determine whether there are any steps you can take on your own to improve the
quantity and quality of your sleep. If the problems persist, you should see a doctor and
request an evaluation for sleep issues and mental health concerns. Following an
evaluation and diagnosis, your provider will be able to advise you on the best course of
treatment. Behavioral or other types of therapy, as well as medications, may be
considered.

BACKGROUND OFTHE STUDY

Studies display that sleep- disadvantaged humans have multiplied bad temper ( anger,
frustration, irritability, sadness) and reduced fantastic temper. And insomnia is mostly a
symptom of temper problems inclusive of despair and anxiety. It additionally will
increase your threat and can even make contributions to the improvement of temper
problems. Sleep problems are a huge variety of issues with many elements, from life-
style and environmental elements to psychosocial and medicinal outcomes. Sleep is

STATEMENT OFTHE PROBLEM

mind are too tired. Because then you definitely may not be capable of do what you

SCOPE AND DELIMITATION OF THE STUDY

This research is limited to determine the effects between having enough sleep and
sleepdeprivation on the mental health of some people here in cavite . The
researchersrespondents will be some of the people here in cavite. This research will be
conducted from the month of March 2022 to May of 2022 at AMA General trias Cavite
As with all correlational studies, the findings from the current study cannot reveal
causal relationships between sleep deprivation and mental health . Another key
limitation has been identified. It is the willingness of the participants to complete the
sleep journal and the task log sheet. Because this study is not a controlled
experimental design, some participants may forget to keep accurate track of their sleep
habits or task log sheet. This limitation may have a negative affect on the results of
the study.
SIGNIFICANCE OF THE STUDY

The significance of this study is that it affects all walks of life. Sleep deprivation knows
no boundaries. It cuts across all cultural, social, economic, religious, educational,
ethnic, racial, gender and age lines. Sleep deprivation is an issue that everyone should
be aware of. Whether you are a student or adult looking out for the safety of your loved
ones or a mother concerned for the welfare, growth, and development of your child.
Whether you, your relative, or your friend suffers from sleep loss, it is an issue that is
linked to every aspect of your life.

RESEARCH INSTRUMENT

I used survey questionnaires that is based on a topic 'lack of sleep affect mental health'.
I believe I used two research instrument, the first one is demographic questionnaire.
That questionnaire consist three questions for information in respondents ( Name, Age,
Gender) . Now the second research instrument that I used is evaluation tool which
reflects on the experience on the respondents. I also used a reviewer that is about the
said topic.

RESEARCH METHODOLOGY

Sleep deprivation is common here in the Philippines. In our 45 respondents, the reasons
why they cant sleep is due to their failing mental health, such as Depression and anxiety.
Although those are not the only Cause. In the survey we have conducted, the highest
reason which is 24 out of 25 or 55% of respondents couldn't sleep due to changes in
sleep patterns. while 5 out of 25 or 1 1 .6% of respondents couldn't sleep due to school
activities which is the lowest

PRESENTATION, ANALYSIS AND INTERPRETATION OF DATA

This part deals with data gathering presentation, analysis and interpretation of the
results from the conducted survey and the software analysis. To accurately draw
comparisons between variables, I used tabular presentation of data. The tabular
presentation allows data to be organized for further analysis, allows large amounts of
raw data to be stored and recognized in a near format, and allows the inclusion of only
the most important data. It also facilitates a dialogue between the test and the exact
numbers in the result

This table 1 .1 shows the distribution of the respondents according to status. The male
respondents in my survey have a total of 20 out of 45 respondents and have a total
percentage of 44.4 %. The total of female respondents have total of 25 out of 45
respondents and have a percentage of 55.6 %.

This table 1 .2 shows the assessment of the male and female respondents to the
existing system in terms of accuracy. In the first row we labeled it as ' symptoms' and
those in the second row are the number of those who answered yes. They said they felt
symptoms like that. And of course in the third row are the percentage of people who
said that they feel that kind of symptoms

SUMMARY, CONCLUSIONS AND RECOMMENDATIONS

enhance the performance of some people if used positively. In that, it makes
communication easier and faster thereby enhancing effective flow of information and
idea sharing among people. However, if used negatively it has adverse impacts on the
performance of some people here in Cavite . Among the negative impacts we identified
include the following: it takes much of the students studies time, results in
procrastination related problems, destroys students grammar and spellings, leads to
lack of concentration during lectures and difficulty in balancing online activities and
academic preparation.
