ANALYZE

Write the most salient developmental characteristics of the learners you observed. Based on
these characteristics, think of implications for the teacher.

REFLECT

1. While you were observing the learners, did you recall your own experiences
when you were their age? What similarities or differences do you have with the
learners you observed?
Yes, I do really remember the times when I was still in elementary school
where we often play and interact with our classmates and friends but one
difference is that the curriculum we use is the old one unlike theses days that
there is now a K-12. So, the teachings and learnings is different. Example, in
the class that I observed ICT is already been taught to young learners.
2. Think of a teacher you cannot forget for positive or negative reasons. How did
she/he help or not help you with your needs (physical, emotional, social, and
cognitive)? How did it affect you?
One teacher that I never forget is when I am in Grade 6 where my teacher is
very kind and approachable. She really helps me to learn because every time
I have a questions or clarification about the lessons, she patiently answer and
explain the topic and never insult or degrade me. As a result, it gives me a
motivation to study hard and learn more. Also, even if I have a family
problem or with my classmates, she cares for me and guide me to do what is
good and help me to cope up and solve my problems. For me she is my ideal
teacher.

3. Share your other insights here.

It is very important that the teacher must be kind and approachable because
it will give a big impact to the students learning. This may affect their
motivation to learn, as long as the learners feel comfortable and appreciated
they will give their best effort to study hard and focus on study.

SHOW Your Learning Artifacts

Which is your favorite theory of development. How can this guide you as a future teacher?
Clip some readings about this theory and paste them here.

My favorite is about the cognitive development, here are some clip of benefit of this
cognitive learning:

Benefits of Cognitive Learning

The following are the major positive effects of cognitive learning:

1. Enhances learning

Cognitive learning theory enhances lifelong learning. Workers can build upon previous
ideas and apply new concepts to already existing knowledge.

2. Boosts confidence

Employees become more confident in approaching tasks as they get a deeper

understanding of new topics and learn new skills.

3. Enhances Comprehension

Cognitive learning improves learners’ comprehension of acquiring new information. They

can develop a deeper understanding of new learning materials.

4. Improves problem-solving skills

Cognitive learning equips employees with the skills they need to learn effectively. They are
thereby able to develop problem-solving skills they can apply under challenging tasks.

5. Help learn new things faster

Through the experience of learning, the employee will be able to recycle and use the same
learning methods that worked previously. This will help them learn new things a lot faster as
they already know what works for them when it comes to obtaining new knowledge.

6. Teaches to form concept formation (think abstract)

Cognitive learning can also teach your employees to form a range of different concepts
such as easily perceiving and interpreting information that could boost creativity and lead
to innovations at the workplace.
