ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT IN DEVELOPING STRATEGIC INCTURCTIONAL MATERIALS

As a teacher, I am aware that every one of my learners is an individual, and there are significant
elements to consider while developing successful educational materials. Diverse user interests, talents,
backgrounds, cultures, languages, and maturity levels are among the considerations. Materials provided
for student usage should be appropriate for the subject area as well as the students served by the
collection's age, social development, ability levels, special needs, and learning styles.

The Materials to be selected should support, enrich and extend the school’s curriculum and to
encourage informational, educational and recreational reading, viewing and/or listening.

This report aimed to demonstrate that Strategic Intervention Material (SIM) may significantly address the
K-12 curriculum guide's least mastered abilities and learning competencies. Several exercises were developed in
order to better and help students grasp challenging subject area topics. Assessments were completed and tested in
concurrently. The test items were examined.

The activities were completed and administered in GRSNHS, having 40 Grade 7 students as
responses. The mean, mastery, and performance level on the actual lesson, as well as the use of SIM,
were computed. The outcomes were also compared. The mastery and performance levels before and
after the usage of the Strategic Intervention Material were interpreted. It revealed that there was a
substantial variation in child mastery and performance levels. This implies that using SIM assists
students in mastering the most challenging and least learned abilities.

The author chooses the least mastered skills among the competencies in the Grade 7 Science K-12
Curriculum to anchor the content of the strategic intervention material. The pre-test was given to the student
respondents before the conduct of the study. The experimental group was given the Strategic Intervention
Material and a post-test was given after the end of the lesson. Upon gathering the pre-test and posttest mean
scores, the authors determined the significant difference in the performance of the learners with the utilization of
Competency-Based Strategic Intervention Materials.
It is for this reason that the proponent was pushed and motivated to design this Strategic
Intervention Material (SIM) in Science 7, with the hope of enhancing learning and providing a solution to
the learners' least mastered skill/s.

The purpose of this study was to determine the effects of Strategic Intervention Material (SIM)
on academic performance in science among grade 7 students at Godofredo Reyes Sr National High
School in the Philippines during the school year 2021-2022. It used a quasi-experimental pretest-
posttest design. The SIM utilized as a study treatment covered one of the least understood abilities in
Science 7, namely explaining the three mechanisms of heat transmission. The study included 20
students in Science 7 during the third quarter, 20 in the control group and 20 in the experimental group.
The control group was taught using traditional methods, whereas the experimental group was taught
using SIM.
This study used hypothesis testing to assess the significant influence of SIM on students'
academic achievement. The study's findings revealed that the employment of SIM is successful in terms
of boosting students' performance, particularly on the issue of the least acquired abilities in Science 7.
This means that SIM may be used as instructional materials as an effective teaching aid during
the learning process.
