LESSON: PURE SUBSTANCE & MIXTURE
Learning Competency: distinguish mixtures from substances based on a set of properties
(S7MT-Ie-f-4)

BACKGROUND INFORMATION: Pure substances are further broken down into

elements and compounds. Mixtures are physically combined structures that can be
separated into their original condition, which then can be classified as Homogenous
Mixture and Heterogeneous Mixtures. In a homogeneous mixture, the components
that are combined can no longer be recognized while in heterogeneous mixture, the
components can still be identified.
