The Eucharistic Celebration and Baccalaureate Mass
The Eucharistic Celebration and Baccalaureate Mass
Introductory Rites
Commentator: Good morning my brothers and sisters in Christ. The liturgy of the Eucharist
which we will witness today is the celebration of the success of the academic
year 2021-2022, as it comes to a close, and the joyous life of our beloved
students. This year marks the struggles of our dear graduates and completers
who may have broken their hearts in two and the triumphs that gave delight in
their hearts. They embark on courage, dedication, perseverance, and excellence
throughout the year amidst the challenge. It is today when Christ makes things
work for our good. And weave us into His hand. Let us be Christ’s living
witnesses in this Eucharist, just like Him, let us be merciful, show love, and
pursue kindness. Let us rejoice and be fulfilled by His grace and love. May this
be the instrument to look forward with respect to universal values and adhere to
become a builder of the community.
ENTRANCE HYMN
(After the people have assembled, the priest and the ministers go to the altar while entrance song is being sung; when the
priest comes to the altar, he makes the customary reverence with the ministers, kisses the altar. Then, he goes to the
chair)
GREETING
After the entrance song, the priest and the faithful remain standing and make the sign of the cross, as the priest says;
PRIEST: In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
ALL: Amen.
Then the priest, facing the people, extends his hands and greets all present with the one of the following greetings;

our many shortcomings and the need to be purified through his forgiveness.
A brief moment of silence
ALL: I confess to almighty God and to you, my brothers and sisters, that I have greatly sinned,
in my thoughts and in my words, in what I have done and in what I have failed to do,
(strike
breast) through my fault, through my fault, through my most grievous fault; therefore I
ask
blessed Mary ever-Virgin, all the Angels and Saints, and you, my brothers and sisters, to
pray for me to the Lord our God.
PRIEST: May Almighty God have mercy on us, forgive us our sins, and bring us to everlasting
life.
ALL: Amen.
KYRIE
ALL : Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy.
Christ have mercy. Christ have mercy.
Lord have mercy. Lord have mercy.

Afterwards the priest, with hands joined, sings or pray;
PRIEST: Oh God our father, you sent your Son among us to kindle the faith of the people you
have made your own. We pray, the grace you have bestowed, that our graduates and
completers may grasp and rightly understand in what font they have been washed, by
whose Spirit they have been reborn, by whose blood they have been redeemed. Through
our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy
Spirit, God, for ever and ever.
ALL: Amen.

EUCHARISTIC PRAYER
The priest begins the Eucharistic prayer with hands extended he sings or says;
PRIEST: The Lord be with you.
ALL: And with Your spirit.
PRIEST: Lift up your hearts.
ALL: We lift them up to the Lord.
PRIEST: Let us give thanks to the Lord our God.
ALL: It is right and just.
PRIEST: It is truly right and just, our duty and our salvation, at all times to acclaim you, O
Lord,
but in this time above all, to praise you yet more gloriously, when Christ our Passover
has been sacrificed. For he is the true Lamb who has taken away the sins of the world;
by dying he has destroyed our death, and by rising, restored our life. Therefore,
overcome with paschal joy, every land, every people exults in your praise and even the
heavenly Powers, with the angelic hosts, sing together the unending hymn of your
glory, as they acclaim:
ALL: (to be sung) Holy, Holy, Holy, Lord God of Hosts. Heaven and Earth are full of Your
glory. Hosanna in the highest, Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.
Hosanna
in the Highest.
He takes the chalice and the paten with the host and, lifting them up, sings or says;
PRIEST: Through him, with him, in him, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, all glory and
honor is yours, Almighty Father, forever and ever.
SIGN OF PEACE
The priest, with hands extended, says aloud:
PRIEST: Lord Jesus, you said to your apostles: I leave you peace, my peace I give.
Look not on our sins, but on the faith of your Church, and grant us the peace
and unity of your Kingdom.
He joins his hands.
where you live forever and ever.
The people answer:
All: Amen.
The priest, extending and joining his hands, adds:
PRIEST: The peace of the Lord be with you always.
The people answer:
All: And with your spirit.
Then the deacon (or the priest) may add:
PRIEST: Let us offer each other the sign of peace.
All make an appropriate sign of peace, according to local custom.
The priest gives the sign of peace to the deacon or minister.
All: Lord, I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof, but only say the word and my
soul shall be healed.
Facing the altar, the priest says inaudibly:
PRIEST: May the body of Christ bring me to everlasting life.
He reverently consumes the body of Christ. Then he takes the chalice and says inaudibly:
PRIEST: May the blood of Christ bring me to everlasting life.
He reverently drinks the blood of Christ.
Commentator: Please be seated and let us prepare ourselves for the Holy Communion.
