“Now before we start, I just want to remind everybody of our

 Ask the learners if they can still recall the previous lesson.

“Now for our new topic, I want to begin our lesson with a game
called “4 pics, 1 word”, are you familiar with this game?”
“Wow, very nice. I know some of you have installed this kind of
game also on your mobile phones before.”
“So I am going to show you 4 pictures for each word and I want
you to guess the missing letters in order to formulate the
hidden word.”
“Is that clear?”
“Ok, Game!”
*Show the pictures and let them guess what the hidden word is.

“Very good! You got all the correct answer.”

“Now by looking at this picture what do you think is this?”

of Element and those words that we have formulated from our
4pics 1 word game were used and can be found in our PERIODIC
TABLE OF ELEMENTS.

“So, this is the Periodic Table of Elements. A periodic table
is a graphical layout of the chemical elements organized into
rows and columns according to their basic characteristics and
today we are going to discuss who are the proponents on the
development of the periodic table, the arrangement of elements
and we are also going to name the different groups of the
periodic table.”

C. Presenting “But before that let us have an activity first entitled

“I’ll give you 1 minute to finish the task.”

“After you are done with the activity can you tell me, what are
the contents of the Dingdong?”
“Yes there are peanuts, corn bits, green peas and cornicks ”
“So, what made you decide to group them together?”
“Okay, you grouped them together because they are similar.”
“So, just like our Table of Elements there were also several
scientists who attempted to organize it based on their
similarities.”

and practicing new skills “So, to help us understand on how the periodic table was
organized and who were the proponents on the development of the
periodic table let us watch this video presentation.”

“Now, after that you have watched the video, I want you to
group yourselves into 4 for our next activity and each group
will be given 1 scientist and you are going to identify the
contribution of that scientist on the development of the
periodic table.”
Group 1 will be Johann Dobereiner
Group 2 will be John Newlands
Group 3 will be Dmitri Mendeleev
Group 4 will be Henrey Moseley
“I will be giving you 5 minutes to complete your task and after
that each group will report their answers in front.”
“Your time start now.”

“Group 1 will be the first to report then Group 2 and so on.”
