SEMI-DETAILED LESSON PLAN IN TEAM SPORT (BASKETBALL)

I. Objectives
At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:
a. Identify the different basic skills in basketball.
b. Value the different health benefits and functions in playing basketball
c. Demonstrate the basic skills in basketball.

II. Content
a. Team sport (basketball)

 Laptop, Basketball, Cones, Projector

III. Procedure
a. Preliminary Activity
 Prayer
 Classroom management
 Checking of attendance
 Review and orientation about the new topic.

Mechanics: Group the students into 4. Choose a leader per group. As the members are
facing backwards, the teacher will give the movement/s to the leaders. The given movement/s
is copied by the leader and needs to be disseminated to the members one by one until the last
member does the movement. The first group to gain 3 points will be the winner.

 “Dribbling Relay”
Mechanics: The class will be divided into 2 groups. Both groups will form a line. Each of
them will run while dribbling the ball back and forth. If the player failed to dribble properly,
he/she will go back to the starting point and dribble again.

 “Pass it forward!”
Mechanics: Both groups will form 2 lines with 5 meters distance facing each other. The
teacher will shout what kind of pass the student will do. (A=bounce pass, B=chest pass,
C=overhead pass).

 “Pressure shooting”
Mechanics: All student will form one line on free throw lane. Students will take turns in
shooting free throws. The first student shoots the ball the rest of the student will do the same,
otherwise he/she will be out for shooting the free throw.

IV. Evaluation
In a 1 whole sheet of paper, answer the following questions in an essay form.
1. What are the benefits of participating in at least one sport or physical activity as a student?
2. What health advantages do you anticipate participating in physical activity or sports will
bring?

V. Assignment
 The student will read in advance the topic individual sports.
