Introduction

The wars are commonly referred to as
the French Indochina War and the
Vietnam War, or the First and Second
Indochina Wars

decades of bloody war

have been killed, 3 million
injured and 12 million others
have fled the country.

Conclusion
More than two decades of violent conflict had
taken a terrible impact on Vietnam's
population: an estimated 2 million Vietnamese
had been killed, 3 million had been injured,
and another 12 million had become refugees.
War had destroyed the country's
infrastructure and economy, and
reconstruction was slow.
