EXECUTIVESUMMARY

Mandy Chew Siok Cheng is a President in Lexis Hibiscus Port Dickson. She grew
up in Pulau Penang and she is the second child raised along with six siblings.
Mandy is a graduate from University of Malay with a Bachelor of Economics
(Hons) majoring in business Administration. She is a successful hotelier with more
than 30 years experience in the hospitality industry.

In 1985, Mandy renowned Shangri La Hotel Kuala Lumpur and became Director of
Human Resources. After 11 years, she holds as Leisure Division in Metroplex
Holding Snd Bhd and she was appointed as Vice President of Business
Development. During her tenure at Metroplex, Mandy was instrumental in
overseeing five hotels and resorts, a shopping mall, a timeshare company promoting
vacation membership, a hospitality college, and as well as a centralized laundry. In
addition, this highly capable generalist oversaw the in-flight catering for the very
first Air Asia flight

After a year, Mandy left Metroplex in 2011 to join Sunway International Hotels
and Resorts as the CEO. Among her main roles include overseeing the profitability
and smooth running of its 2,786 hotel rooms in Malaysia, Vietnam and Cambodia.
While at the conglomerate, she was also the Director of Sunway International
Vacation Club and Sunway Healthy Lifestyle. In 2015, Mandy assumed the role of
President of Lexis. She is in time for the soft opening of Lexis Hibiscus Port
Dickson, the Group’s signature property. The Lexis brand currently manages four
properties, three of them in Port Dickson.
BUSINESS DESCRIPTION

Lexis Hibiscus is a 5 star hotel located along the pristine Pasir Panjang beach of
Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. Lexis Hibiscus is the largest resort in Port Dickson
and one of the most famous in Malaysia, providing the finest in accommodation,
dining, and meeting in Negeri Sembilan. The triumphs by Lexis Hibiscus Port
Dickson further strengthen its commitment to promote tourism in Port Dickson,
which continues to see increased demand for luxurious accommodation from
discerning travelers, covering business and leisure segments from both local and
overseas. The plenty of job opportunities offered by Lexis Hibiscus to local also has
contributed positively towards Tourism Industry in Malaysia.

Since its opening in 2015, Lexis Hibiscus has received more than 2 million
tourists from residents and another country. Lexis Hibiscus had made a name in the
international state and able to attract a million guests to the resorts over the year
from more than 100 countries. The iconic of Lexis Hibiscus is the resemblance of
the hibiscus flower that represent of Malaysia’s national flower and each of the
villas consists of 643 pool comprising tower rooms and water villas. Each of its is
spacious, tastefully decorated with Balinese touch, and comes with its own private
dip pool. The villas also offer amazing scenery of the sea and reaction activities for
the guest.

The unique concept of Lexis Hibiscus proudly achieving the Guinness World of
Record with ‘The most swimming pool in a resort at 643’. These records were
determined by a research which was verified on 14 October 2016. Lexis Hibiscus
also were nominated as a Winner of BrandLaureate SMEs Best Brands Awards in
Hospitality for 2 year (2016 –2017) and Malaysia Best Employer Brand Awards
(2017) and recipient of World Luxury Hotel Awards – Luxury Water Villa Resort in
Southeast Asia category.

Sees and Acts On Opportunity

President of Lexis Hibiscus, Mandy Chew see the opportunity of Lexis Hibiscus
hospitality can give bigger impact to country economic growth. With plenty of job
opportunity offered to the local, the resorts has contributed positively to Malaysia
tourism industry.

Lexis Hibiscus would work closely with the government to promote Malaysia to
discerning leisure and business traveler from FITS (Free Independent Tourist), tour
series, corporate and MICE (Meeting,Incentive,Conference and Exhibition)
segments, both locally and aboard. In vision to deliver a memorable and unique
hospitality experience for international standard, and hope guest to return to the
resort over and over again

Concern for High Quality of Work

Excellent quality of employees must be from the successor leadership.


Motivated employees can together help the organization pursue its vision and goals.
The employee’s performance also can enhance if the leader has a good
communication and care about their employees.

As an entrepreneur with a heart, Mandy always believes in giving back to society.


She holds dear to the adage that the more you give, the more you will receive. She
always ensures their staff’s welfare is always well-taken care. Lexis also engages
employees who are physically challenged, and they are placed in suitable
departments according to their abilities.
