FOURTH QUARTER SY. 2019-2020

Day/Date: MARCH 10, 2020 Teacher: JOMALYN Q. DADUYO

TUESDAY
I. OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standards The learners demonstrate an understanding of:
the chemical reactions associated with biological and industrial processes affecting life
and the environment
B. Performance Standards The learners shall be able to:
using any form of media, present chemical reactions involved in biological and
industrial processes affecting life and the environment
C. Learner’s competencies The learners should be able to...
 apply the principles of conservation of mass to chemical reactions; and
S10MT- IVe-g-23-
 explain how the factors affecting rates of chemical reactions are applied in
food preservation and materials production, control of fire, pollution, and
corrosion. S10MT- IVh-j-24
*Specific Objectives ( 3
Skills a Day)
1. Cognitive* Explain the application of knowing the concepts of reactants and products.
2. Psychomotor* Perform a laboratory activity involving chemical reactions.
3. Affective* Relate the importance of innovation through chemical reactions.
II. CONTENT Topic: Chemical Reactions Sub Topic: Chemical Experiment 2
III. LEARNING RESOURCES

new lesson Give examples of reactants and products.

B. Establishing a purpose to Provide motivation and introduction.

the lesson. Let the students watch a videoclip and share their thoughts from the videoclip.
B. Presenting
examples/instances of the
new lesson
D. Discussing new concepts Distinguish evidences of chemical reactions and perform a laboratory activity involving
and practicing new skills # 1. chemical reactions.
E. Discussing new concepts Discuss safety precautions.
and practicing new skills # 2. Let the students explain the procedure of the group activity.

Procedure A. Iron Nail-Copper Sulfate Reaction

1. Fill a test tube with 10 mL of copper sulfate solution.
2. Drop the nail gently into the solution.
3. Place the test tube in the test tube rack for a few minutes.

GUIDE QUESTIONS:
Q1. What happened to the color of the copper sulfate solution?
Q2. What happened to the color of nail.

F. Developing Mastery Why does a chemical reactions need to be done and take many trials before it
succeeded?

G. Finding practical application When a physical change occurs there is no breaking and forming of bonds. There are
of concepts and skills in daily certain things that will help us identify if a chemical reaction has taken place. We call
living. these evidences of chemical reactions.
H. Making Generalization and  Production of light
Abstraction about the lesson.  Evolution of gas
 Temperature change
 Change in intrinsic properties (color, odor)
 Formation of precipitate

I. A. Evaluate Learning GUIDE QUESTIONS:

Q1. What happened to the color of the copper sulfate solution?

Q2. What happened to the color of nail.

Let them discuss their conclusions.

B. Application Question: How will you apply the knowledge about the importance of understanding concept of a
chemical reaction?
I. Additional activities for Read more about the Chemical Reactions.
